Upon arrival in Spain we called the agent to get the keys, was given a clear and precise map of how to find the villa. The villa is set within the exclusive area of Sotogrande with security on all access roads in and out of the entire luxurious estate.
Although we were not the to play golf the villa is ideally located for golfers. Valderama is just one of many golf courses with in the complex.
The villa itself is well laid out and set to accomodate all members of the family. There are balconies on all 3 levels with eating areas on the bottom 2, allowing you plenty of space to enjoy family meals. The BBQ is a welcome touch. The bathrooms are all luxurious, the main bathroom had a jacuzzi type bath, whilst the master ensuite had a spa type shower system.
When you have had enough sun for the day there is a games room where the whole family can enjoy playing ping pong, pool and darts, for the more energetic members there are some free weights and exercise bike. The swimming pool is nice and relaxing at any time of the day, just the right size.
We hired a car whilst there which is definitely a must as there didn't seem to be anything within walking distance. The local supermarket isn't far and is well stocked, We even bumped into Gareth Bale whilst shopping there.
We visited the marina where there was a good selection of pop up restuarants. The boats were lovely to look at, nice and relaxing.
Gibraltar is only 20 minutes away by car and definitely worth a visit, we even went a couple of evenings for dinner as they have a wonderful selection of meals, the La Sala ship is well worth a visit for dinner. Don't forget your passports when visiting.
We truly had a wonderful time and hope to return again in the not too distant future!
