These two one-bedroom apartments are rented together and offer a private garden and a private 9.5m x 4.8m pool. The garden is sheltered by a large natural rock, characteristic of local villages, which is covered in wild flowers and provides privacy and a unique atmosphere.

Both apartments are renovated in a traditional Tuscan style, simply but comfortably furnished, and set up to give guests flexibility with two kitchens, two dining areas and two living rooms. The garden includes mature olive trees, rosemary bushes and several outdoor seating and dining areas. The pool uses darker tiles which help maintain a slightly warmer temperature than standard tiled pools. An outhouse with two washing machines and a dryer is available for guest use.

Apartment 1 sleeps 2–4 people. Located on the ground floor, it has an open-plan kitchen, living and dining room with a double sofa bed, a tiled bathroom and a double bedroom.

Apartment 2 is larger and arranged over two floors. The ground floor contains the kitchen, dining and living area with a double sofa bed. The first floor has the bathroom and a bedroom sleeping 3 people. This apartment also includes a spacious terrace overlooking the pool and natural rock.

LOCATION

The apartments are located in Villetta, a village known for impressive views across the Garfagnana. The owner also runs the nearby restaurant/pizzeria a few minutes’ walk away. The village has another restaurant, cafe/ bar and small shops, and there is a wild swimming spot about 10 minutes away on foot. The apartments sit above the local church, accessed by a narrow village road typical of rural Tuscany.

Villetta is part of the Garfagnana region, known for dramatic mountain scenery, forests, river valleys and traditional Tuscan life. It is widely considered the best area in Tuscany for walking, offering gentle woodland paths and more challenging mountain routes.

The region is also known for excellent value restaurants. A typical set lunch with pasta and main-course choices costs around €10–12 including bread, wine and coffee. A traditional multi-course Sunday lunch with wine and liqueurs is usually around €30.

Friends of Tuscany work with a respected outdoor activity company offering guided walks, climbing, mountain biking, canoeing and world-class gorge walking. Several horse-riding stables are also nearby.
