The Space:

Villa Sol y Arena is a unique beachfront 1 bedroom garden apartment that is literally steps from the sand in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico. You can enjoy a stroll on the beach and mesmerizing sunsets just steps from your door.



The villa features a fully equipped kitchen, a well-appointed bedroom, a full bathroom, air conditioning throughout the entire apartment, a washer & dryer, a terrace overlooking the palm trees, and most importantly, direct beach access.



You will love the wonderful community amenities which include two large swimming pools, tennis courts, volleyball and basketball courts. The property includes 1 parking spot and 24-7 security.



CONSTRUCTION NOTE: THE APARTMENT UPSTAIRS WILL BE REMODELED FROM JANUARY THROUGH APRIL 2026. THE PRICE HAS BEEN INCREASED TO AVOID RESERVATIONS DURING THESE MONTHS. IF YOU ARE LOOKING TO BOOK AFTER APRIL, WE'D STILL RECOMMEND REACHING OUT TO US FOR A STATUS UPDATE AS THE CONSTRUCTION COULD BE DELAYED/EXTENDED. THANK YOU!



LOCATION NOTE: THIS PROPERTY IS LOCATED IN A RESIDENTIAL COMMUNITY WHERE THE RESIDENTS ARE CURRENTLY WORKING TOWARDS GETTING THE BUILDINGS PAINTED AND TO REPAIR SOME SIDEWALKS. THIS DOES NOT AFFECT OUR PROPERTY’S INTERIORS, AS IT IS IN OPTIMUM CONDITION. WE POLITELY ASK TO TAKE THIS INTO CONSIDERATION BEFORE BOOKING OR LEAVING US A REVIEW.

The cozy bedroom features a comfortable queen-sized bed, ensuring a peaceful night's sleep after your adventures in paradise. It has A/C, a closet and room darkening shades.





KITCHEN



Villa Sol y Arena has a simple but fully equipped kitchen. The kitchen includes a fridge, freezer, microwave, stovetop, oven, coffee maker, and toaster oven. It is right next to the living and dining area.





GETTING AROUND & PARKING



Villa Sol y Arena includes one (1) parking spots.



Renting a car is a must when staying in Rio Grande as Ubers and taxis are not readily available in this area.



There are many activities within 15-30 minutes of driving distance and the roads are easy to navigate.





LOCATION



There are many things to do in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico. Here are our top picks which you will be sure to enjoy during your stay:



Explore the lush and exotic El Yunque, the only rainforest under US Flagship. We can help you plan a hike or participate in a zip-line adventure.



Experience the glowing waters on a night kayak tour in the bioluminescent bay in Fajardo.



Taste the local flavors at the staple kiosks in nearby Luquillo – right next to the beach.



Go on a horseback or four-track ride off the beaten path in Carabali Rainforest Park.



Play a round of golf at the Wyndham Rio Mar Golf Course or any of the neighboring nearby courses like Bahia Beach Resort & Golf Club in Rio Grande or El Conquistador Resort in Fajardo.

STARTER AMENITIES



At West Indies Vacation Rentals, we strive to provide top-notch amenities, ensuring our guests feel at home during their stay.



All properties come with freshly laundered bed linens and towels. We provide 2 bath towels per guest and 1 beach/pool towel per guest.



We provide a set of disposable essentials to help you get your vacation started comfortably. These include:



- 1 set of hotel-size soap and shampoo (per bathroom)

- 3 garbage bags

- 1 roll of paper towels

- 2 rolls of toilet paper (per bathroom)

- 1 dish soap

- 1 dish sponge

- A small amount of laundry detergent



Please note that we do not provide unlimited disposable amenities. It is the guest’s responsibility to review what is included in the property and stock any additional items needed for the duration of the stay.



Most properties also include at least 2 beach chairs and an ice cooler. You may reach out to us 5 days before arrival for confirmation.





HOUSE RULES



RENTAL AGREEMENT: All bookings require a signed Short-Term Rental Agreement, which will be sent upon confirmation of your reservation. Guests must upload a valid photo ID (no selfies) that matches the name on the credit card used for the booking. The agreement must be signed within 48 hours of booking or prior to entering the property, whichever comes first. Check-in instructions will not be provided until the agreement is completed.



NO SMOKING: Smoking is not permitted anywhere on the property. A $500 smoking fee will be charged if this rule is violated.



NO PETS: While we are pet lovers, pets are not permitted at the property at any time. A $300 fine will be charged if this rule is violated, and guests may be asked to leave the property.



QUIET HOURS: Quiet hours are from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM. Please be mindful of noise during these hours out of respect for nearby residents/neighbors.



UTILITIES (WATER & ELECTRICITY): In the event of an interruption to water or electrical service, the host is not responsible for hotel, alternate lodging, or transportation expenses. If service is interrupted for more than 3 hours, guests may cancel the reservation and request a refund for unused nights only. Nights already used are non-refundable.



MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY: The maximum occupancy is 2 adults/children at all times, including visitors.



OCCUPANCY ENFORCEMENT: Occupancy limits are strictly enforced. Exceeding the maximum occupancy may result in immediate cancellation of the reservation or removal from the property without refund.



TOWELS & LINENS: Towels and linens are provided for normal use only. Please do not use them for cleaning or allow them to be stained with food, grease, or other substances. Charges may apply for damaged or stained items.



TOWEL HANGING: Please do not hang towels or any other items to dry in areas visible from outside the unit. A $100 community fine may apply if this rule is violated.



SUBLETTING: Subletting or re-renting the property is not permitted.





CHECK-IN / CHECK-OUT TIMES



Check-in begins at 4:00 PM, and since this is a self-check-in unit, you can arrive anytime after that.



If you’d like to check in earlier, please contact us the day before your arrival, and we’ll confirm availability. When possible, early check-in typically starts around 11:00 AM. Please note that early check-in is subject to availability and depends on our cleaning schedule.



If you need a guaranteed early check-in, you will need to book from the night prior to ensure the property is ready upon your arrival.



Check-out time is at 11:00 AM. For late check-out requests, please reach out the day before your departure, and we’ll be happy to check availability for you.





TRAVEL INSURANCE / HURRICANE SEASON



We strongly recommend that all guests purchase travel insurance, not only during the peak months of Hurricane Season (July to October) but also throughout the year to cover unexpected events such as travel delays, pandemics, or other unforeseen issues.



Travel insurance is inexpensive and can reimburse travelers for most expenses associated with canceling travel outside of the cancellation window; however, coverage will depend on the policy purchased. Make sure to review and understand the options before purchase.

We loved our stay here! It is close to the beach, just a short walk over a sand dune. The beach was walkable in both directions. The water was calm so we could wade or swim. There were so many sand dollars in the sand about knee deep. More importantly, the condo was perfect. The bed was comfortable. There were light blocking shades so we were able to sleep late. The kitchen was equipped well enough for us to make meals. We really loved that a washer and dryer was available, what a luxury to have a dry towel and swim wear every day for the beach. It was quiet yet close to everything we wanted to do. Definitely need a car but we loved Luquillo beach for flyboard and kayaking, Seven Seas beach for relaxing and so close to El Yunque Natl Forest for hiking. Communication was clear. We had entry codes, wifi password and check in instructions in advance to make getting there easy, including parking and directions. One of our best vrbo experiences yet. We would do it again!

Perfect location

The beach was truly steps away. A few glitches on check in but eventually resolved. Very clean and everything we needed for a week. Would love to see a grab bar at tub for safety.

First time to Puerto Rico

This was the perfect place for us. Easy drive from airport. Two beautiful beaches on either side of a point. Easy drive to a large grocery store (Amigos in Luquilla), food kiosks (highly recommend #2 La Parrilla), other beaches and El Yunque which is beautiful. It was only 35 minutes to Fajardo for a snorkeling excursion. It is a very quiet area with several other small gated apartment complexes which seem to be mostly locally owned and used on the weekends. To the south is the Wyndham Grande and several large golf complexes. The unit is very nicely decorated and adequately supplied. It is right in front of the dunes protecting the beach with a partial ocean view from the patio. The beach is mostly hard packed sand great for walking, and the water was excellent swimming the whole week - not snorkeling clear but not big waves either (this was in early March). We went to Balneario La Monserrate the first day before check-in and liked the beach at our unit just as well. Ritchies restaurant 5 minutes away has spectacular views but mediocre food. We could have explored more but this location was so nice we mostly stayed at our beach. I would recommend this specific unit in the complex for a quiet, safe place to just stay or as a base to explore from.
