The house on Sol Street is absolutely beautiful. It is like a museum inside. The ocean views from the balcony and the rooftop were amazing! The beds were so comfortable and the water pressure in the shower was perfect. It was nice to be within walking distance from so many museums and restaurants.

We found the perfect place to stay in Old San Juan. The location can’t be beat as you are within walking distance to almost every attraction. The accommodation itself is stunning! The property is located in an excellent location for those who wish to be able to walk to so many attractions. The house was just as beautiful as the photos and there were so many antiques. They were so interesting! The beds were so comfortable! I honestly have nothing negative to report. Would definitely recommend!

I loved my stay at Casa Lila. The owner was great at communicating and provided some local reviews. The house is decorated beautifully and fits the vibe of historic San Juan. City is walkable and there's lots of restaurants/shops in the area. My review of Chocobar is don't go. It's an overhyped place. I took off 1 star because we were asked to remove linens, take out trash and load dishwasher upon exit, which I think for the price she can have the housekeeping do.

The location and property are wonderful. Five stars!!However, the spiral staircase (and it's 22 steps) are narrow. HIGHLY recommend packing small bags with no large/heavy pieces of luggage. We had to unpack the large bags downstairs and then make multiple trips upstairs with our clothing.While there, the Federal government shutdown which closed El Morro, Cristobal, El Yunque and the museums. Fortunately, the two largest malls remained open, and Uber fares were very reasonable.

Great experience in Old San Juan

We had a great experience, and Casa Lila was a big part of it. The location is exceptional, walking distance from local restaurants, beautiful ocean views, and beautiful neighborhood to walk around and enjoy the historic architecture. The hostess was very responsive and thoughtful. When we arrived the air conditioner was not working in the master bedroom and within hours she had someone there to fix it. If you are planning a trip to PR and want to stay in old San Juan, I would definitely recommend staying here.

Book It!!!

While comparing the price, quality and location of an ocean front suite in a resort vs VRBO, I was initially drawn to the beautiful view, indoor patio and ample space of this home. I hesitated thinking my husband and our 2 seventeen year old sons, would not appreciate the antique home, plus I wasn’t sure that staying in Historic Old San Juan would really be enjoyable for the whole family. I was soooooo wrong. It was perfect!!! The home is truly the perfect blend of antique and modern. View from both the master and rooftop is amazing. Every floor has a bathroom and shower, plus the master has its own as well (minor thing important to a mom of 2 boys, lol). Home is clean, beds comfy, linen clean and plush. Area vibrant and welcoming. We enjoyed morning jogs with beautiful ocean view. Hubby took Uber to various casinos. We took Uber to other beaches and areas. You don’t need a car, but consider renting one for a day or 2 if you want to explore other areas or beaches. I didn’t plan out every activity, as I normally do, lol but it was still enjoyable. My teens loved the location and the home, but they basically wanted to JetSki and try new restaurants daily. The only down side for us was that we had to go further out to find a JetSki rental were you could be 16 to drive and beach access wasn’t as convenient as I’m use to, but I honestly didn’t mind. Easy check in, clear detailed instructions, suggestions and easy communication with the host.

Our first trip to Puerto Rico our stay at Casa Lila was amazing. The ocean views from the bedroom balcony and rooftop were fabulous. The bedrooms decor was beautiful and the beds were comfortable.There is a spiral staircase to the upstairs that could be challenging from some.There is a couch that pulls out and small shower and toilet downstairs It is a short walking distance to historic area , shops and restaurants. I would highly recommend the owner was very responsive for any questions

Perfect Location

We absolutely loved our stay here. I traveled with my mom, husband, and two kids, and the house was perfect for all of us—spacious, beautifully designed, and with a stunning ocean view. We had coffee on the balcony every morning and wine in the evening. It was peaceful and relaxing, but still close to great restaurants, shops, and everything we wanted to see. The host was incredibly responsive and easy to communicate with. We’d absolutely stay here again and highly recommend.

We stayed for 5 nights, in town for a wedding. Pros:1) Gorgeous views, both the master bedroom patio and rooftop deck were amazing, stunning! It was one of the main reasons we chose this property.2) Location was fantastic, (another main reason) right next to the historic fort in Old San Juan, walking distance to everything. Family that either stayed or visited Old San Juan stopped by and just loved both the location and views. Great restaurants/cafes all within a 5 to 10 minute walk.3) Rosa was lovely, gave us great recommendations for dining.4) If you love antiques and art, this place was loaded with super cool things. Our daughter loved it!Cons:1) Spiral staircase was treacherous, 22 (or more!) steps. We’ve stayed in a rental home with a spiral staircase (so thought we’d be ok) but this one was much higher and rather unnerving :/2) Beds were not the most comfortable for us, on the hard side and bedding was not great. An upgrade in the mattresses and bedding would have gone far.3) Bathroom off the main bedroom was ok, vanity and mirror had seen better days, drawers falling out. Not a lot of options for storing your toiletries.Not cons but wanted to note: Step up and down from bathrooms and closets. We were ok, but could be concerning going to the bathroom late at night. Don’t think it was noted in the listing so wanted to mention. Also, I am very particular about cleaning, so wasn’t the cleanest for me, but for most I’m sure it would be fine.

Old World charm at its best!!!

We will always be appreciative for your generous hospitality and how you personally welcomed us into your home, which is lovely and in keeping with old world charm. The views are magnificent, the ocean breezes were personally exhilarating, and the location could not be more ideal for those who come to fully experience Old San Juan.

Location, location, location!

Casa Lila is situated in the perfect location in Old San Juan. The view from the rooftop deck is incredible, great for enjoying drinks and listening to the waves. Restaurants and bars are all within walking distance from the property. The house itself is maintained in a style reminiscent of its history.The parking situation worked fine for us, however those with mobility issues may find the walk from the lot a couple blocks away to be challenging. The street itself is narrow and parking is quite limited so it is necessary to unload one's bags quickly and move the car. We hope to visit Old San Juan again and would definitely stay at Casa Lila.

I cant say enough about this property. Before we even arrived the owner was so helpful in fininding some of the best places to eat and shop. The house itself is modernized to include all the creature comforts in an absolutly stunning OSJ row home in the best location. No car needed ! The rooftop deck was our favorite place to be when not exploring the city. Beds were comfortable and linens were just what we were hoping for. Kitchen had everything you would need to eat in. Staying here was one of the highlights of our trip ! home with the beat best views
