We really enjoyed stay at Nuestra Casa, it was close to everything and all the staff is great. Teresa is gem.
The pool was clean and refreshing, breakfast was satisfying and the sunset view from the lookout at the top of the building was exceptional.
We would stay again.
Besides the no hot water, no shampoo, and the fact that my window opened up to where the sheets were hung (not much natural light), the room was fine. AC worked well! Electricity only went out twice for a very short time. Internet WiFi was weak but I could still hop on calls if the camera was turned off. Didnât hear any loud music (but could hear people talking in other rooms and lobby).
Free breakfast was a perk. Fruit was very fresh!
Location was excellent. 1 minutes walk to the beach and tons of restaurants. The beach is gross but you can take shuttles to the nice ones for swimming / surfing.
Pro tip: book a massage. The masseuse comes to your room. Carina was great!
Check in was weak. Wish they told me there was a rooftop deck! I had no idea. Also was not told how to lock the main gate when I left (security hazard)?
The property was conveniently located to town but extremely quiet.
It seemed it was set up for more seasoned and mature travelers. We will come back again.
We had a great visit staying at Nuestra Casa. The hotel is small, which kept things quiet, and the vibe was friendly with other hotel guests. The breakfast was HUGE compared to other hotels and the AC was strong in the rooms. Overall clean, simple rooms. The pool was a reprieve from the hot temps. The hill up to the hotel was steep but manageable on foot (short distance). Would return for another stay.
We had the top floor room with a balcony & view of the ocean. It had a great bed. The breakfasts were very nice. Unfortunately, there was no hot water on the morning that we were checking out. That may have been citywide.
Keep in mind this property is in a residential area. Neighbor had a barking dog... at night :(
It was very close to the beach and the "business" area.
You can walk to everything you need.
This is a step above a hostel. The room was very bare bones. Just a bed (with one thin pillow and sheet), small table, bathroom & cement floors. We didnât have additional pillows or blankets. Our room didnât have towels. There isnât a front desk to work with. The security guard helped us get towels & reassured us of the water tank leaking into our room (but did not provide anything to mop up the floor). We checked out with the cook.
The hotel is located in a decent area which is a quick walk to all the bars & restaurants.
Property needs a refurbishment and simple upgrades like tiles for the shower and pool floor - little fixes will go a long way and improve overall look and feel of the place warranting the price it has on it - currently it doesnât feel like good value for money especially compared to other hotels in the city who have better location and look newer and more refurbished. Apparently the owner owns four different properties in the city - instead of expanding and overcharging for the rooms maybe he or she can spend more time reinvesting in existing properties; staff was great and breakfast delicious.
