The Space:

This if your own little vessel docked in Ocean Beach.



El Pescador is one private rental featuring two separate spaces within the same fully enclosed property: the Captain's Quarters and the Crew's Quarters. Together they create a unique, boat-inspired experience designed to bring life on the water ashore.



Captain's Quarters (Upstairs)

The Captain's Quarters serve as the main cabin of the home. Located upstairs, you'll find a queen bedroom, full kitchen, dining area, living room, workstation, futon for an additional guest, and the property's only full bathroom.



Inspired by life above deck, this space was designed to feel open, bright, and connected to the sea and sky. A hand-painted mural by local artist Marco Calderon stretches across the main living area, featuring a soaring seagull and Ocean Beach's iconic green parrots. Along with the nautical décor, it helps create the feeling of being at the helm of your own vessel.



Crew's Quarters (Downstairs)

Located near the garage, the Crew's Quarters are inspired by life below deck. This cozy cabin-like space features bunk beds, a sink, laundry area with washer and dryer, storage lockers, and a coded entrance.



Together, the Captain's and Crew's Quarters offer a fun and memorable layout that allows guests to spread out while enjoying one private rental experience.



Outside you'll find a fire pit, outdoor dining area, outdoor shower, a sandy "playita" for lounging in the sun, and a balcony where you can catch SeaWorld fireworks on select evenings.



Throughout the home you'll discover nods to San Diego's maritime heritage, sea life, and the adventures that inspired El Pescador.



The Neighborhood:

El Pescador is located in the heart of Ocean Beach (OB), one of San Diego’s most vibrant coastal communities. Known for its laid-back surf culture, eclectic shops, and colorful locals, OB is a place where you can wander from tide pools to taco stands in the same afternoon. Walk to the OB Pier, tide pools, and lively Newport Avenue, filled with coffee shops, breweries, restaurants, and boutiques.



Just a short drive or bike ride away, you’ll find Sunset Cliffs Natural Park with its dramatic ocean views, Mission Bay for water sports and family fun, and Belmont Park with its historic roller coaster and boardwalk vibes. Explore nearby Point Loma for breathtaking harbor views and seafood dining, or head to Old Town, Liberty Station, Little Italy, and Balboa Park for San Diego’s rich history, culture, and food scene.



Whether you’re here to surf, stroll, or soak up the local energy, OB and its surrounding neighborhoods offer the perfect mix of coastal adventure and classic San Diego charm.



Getting Around:

El Pescador is centrally located, making it easy to explore both Ocean Beach and greater San Diego.



-On Foot: Walk to Newport Avenue, the OB Pier, tide pools, and the beach—all just minutes away. Ocean Beach is a very walkable neighborhood filled with restaurants, coffee shops, breweries, and quirky boutiques.

-By Bike/Car: Sunset Cliffs, Mission Bay, Belmont Park, and SeaWorld are all just a few minutes away. Quick drives also take you to Point Loma, Old Town, Liberty Station, Balboa Park, or Little Italy.

-Parking: Guests have access to one space inside the garage and one parking space directly in front of the garage. Additional street parking is available nearby.

-Airport Access: San Diego International Airport is less than 15 minutes away, making arrivals and departures stress-free.

-Public Transportation: Several bus lines connect Ocean Beach with downtown, Old Town Transit Center, and beyond. Rideshare services like Uber and Lyft are also widely available, and San Diego’s trolley system is accessible from nearby Old Town for easy trips into downtown, Petco Park, and other city attractions.



Whether you prefer to stroll, cruise on a bike, hop on a bus, or drive, El Pescador offers convenient access to all of San Diego’s coastal and cultural highlights.



Other Things to Note:

🚪 Access & Arrival

El Pescador is accessed through a private alley entrance, a common feature throughout Ocean Beach. The property is fully enclosed and secured with gated entry and custom access codes. A garage remote is provided during your stay for added convenience.



🚗 Parking

One parking space is available inside the garage and another directly in front. Additional street parking is typically available nearby.



🐾 Pets Welcome

Small to medium dogs and cats are welcome with a one-time fee of $45 per pet, per stay. Bowls, treats, and waste baggies are provided for furry friends. Please note that the yard is not intended as a pet bathroom. Additional cleaning, damage, or repairs will be billed at $40/hour (1-hour minimum), plus the cost of any materials or services required.



✈️ Airplane Flight Path

Like much of Point Loma and Ocean Beach, El Pescador is located within the flight path of San Diego International Airport. Most guests quickly adjust and appreciate the convenience of being so close to the airport, but if you're sensitive to occasional aircraft noise, it's something to be aware of before booking. To help ensure a restful stay, we provide a sound machine in the bedroom as well as complimentary earplugs.



🌊 Ocean Beach Living

Ocean Beach is a vibrant, close-knit coastal community with a relaxed beach-town atmosphere. You may hear the sounds of coastal life, including seagulls, neighborhood activity, and Ocean Beach's famous wild green parrots. The neighborhood is loved for its character, walkability, and local charm.



⚓ Thoughtful Touches

To help you settle in, we provide complimentary coffee and tea, beach chairs, beach toys, laundry detergent and fabric softener, and a variety of bathroom essentials including shampoo, conditioner, body wash, shower steamers, hair ties, cotton swabs, floss picks, and a hair dryer. An extra propane tank is also available for the fire pit should you need it.



🌿 Property Care

The property receives bi-weekly groundskeeping and trash service to help keep the outdoor spaces looking their best. Service providers may briefly access exterior areas during your stay.

El Pescador is part of the Home Sweet San Diego collection of boutique rentals, thoughtfully designed to help guests experience San Diego like a local. All Home Sweet San Diego properties are properly licensed and operated in accordance with City of San Diego regulations.

Interaction with Guests:

You’re the captain of your own voyage. Check-in is smooth and hands-off with your custom codes, but I’m always on deck (just a call or message away) if you need guidance.



Most days you’ll find me nearby in San Diego, either in Golden Hill or not too far away. If I don’t reply right away, there’s a good chance I’m out catching a few waves — but don’t worry, I’ll always chart a course back to you and let you know ahead of time if I’ll be unavailable during check-in (though that’s rare).
