SUMMARY
Avalon Beach 2 is our professionally designed beach home located in a quaint 4-unit building in South Mission Beach - just a few homes away from a surf + swim friendly beach. This convenient ground level unit features 2bedrooms + 1bathroom, 1 parking space, shared outdoor patio with seating + shade umbrella + BBQ & beach chairs/towels/boogie boards. Maximum occupancy 6 (4 adults maximum for all-adult groups). Note-No A/C, fans are provided.

INTERIOR HIGHLIGHTS
Step inside the front entry off the patio into the cozy living area with white/gray/blue beach tones throughout. The main living area includes a plush sofa bed & accent chairs that surround a mounted SMART TV.

Windows surround this area that look out to the patio (see Outdoor Features below) & lead to the dining nook & kitchen. The hallway leads you to both bedrooms, featuring our master suite with King bed & SMART TV. Bedroom #2 houses includes 2 twin size beds, & rounding out the space is a full bath off the hallway (tub/shower combo).

This quaint 4-unit building property provides 2 units on the 1st/ground level & 2 units on the 2nd/upper level. The 1st level units share the ground level outdoor patio, and the 2nd level units share the upper level deck. Guests have the option to rent each unit individually or rent a combination of units. Each has its own separate entry, these homes are not connected on the inside.

POLICIES & GOOD NEIGHBOR GUIDELINES
‱ Guest Requirements | Per certain regulations & HOA requirements, guests must be at least 30 years of age to book with us. If your group is all adults, then all guests must meet our minimum age of 30 (exceptions made for multi-generational families).
‱ Occupancy | Maximum occupancy refers to the number of people allowed in the home at any given time (ie includes both overnight guests & non-overnight visitors), some of which may be mandated by certain regulations. Exceptions towards the maximum number of people allowed may be made for children under the age of 2. Guest(s) agrees that more than the number of people stated on the reservation shall not occupy the premises. The number of guests includes visitors, even if they are not staying overnight.
‱ Noise | Our homes are intended for relaxing getaways, not rowdy beach parties. Music and other noise is to be kept at an appropriate level and in a manner that is mindful to neighbors. Noise that can be heard 50 feet away from the home is prohibited. Parties are not allowed. If there is excessive noise or music, any illegal activity, or evidence of violation of these policies, you may be asked to vacate the premise without any refund and additional charges may be assessed.

The location was lovely and super close to both the ocean and the bay. What stands out more to us, though, is the utter calm and quiet of the street. This is the place for you if yoi want calm and peace. Partiers aren't recommended.

overall a great stay, but there was little left to be desired in the cleanliness department. It’s were surface clean but there are some larger maintanence items like the mold all over the bathroom and trims. and outdated smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors (they should be replaced every 10 years to be considered reliable). The beds were comfortable, and when the unit would not cool down the staff brought us extra fans. it should be noted that this unit does not have AC and is far enough off the beach to not get the ocean breeze so it was a very hot stay at night, especially with children.

Girls trip

The location is perfect if you’re looking to stay on Mission Beach without all of the noise of the party crowd. There was construction in the alley so it was noisy during the day but we left during the loud times. The walkway to the ocean was blocked off for the entire time but we found ways to get there. The beach chairs were so nice. We grabbed a cup of coffee and headed to the beach every morning. I would recommend a margarita at The Pennant just a short walk from the house if you can’t check in early! 😉. The response from the host was quick. The noise from upstairs was minimal but you could hear every step they took. Overall a great stay. Neighbors were great and the property provided us all that we needed!

The unit looked just as charming as we expected, we enjoyed the short walk to the beach and the cute places along the way, the beds were comfortable and I appreciated having a place to park. Being familiar with the area we fully expected some aircraft noise, we were not expecting to hear as much as we did from the unit above us. Some examples, We heard footsteps from upstairs most of our trip. One evening there was what we believe to be patio furniture being moved above us and it was so loud in our living room that we had to stop our conversation and go for a walk to get away from the noise. Another night after midnight we were all awakened by what sounded like luggage being dragged across the floor and doors opening and closing for at least half an hour. It wasn't enough to ruin our trip but it certainly affected the level of relaxation we could achieve in our unit.

Great house and super close to the beach

We had an excellent stay in Avalon 2. The home was super cute with everything we needed for a great beach getaway. We loved the proximity to the beach. We could walk to the beach in 2 min and the house had everything our 1 year old and my husband needed to have a fun time! The kitchen was stocked with all the utensils you would need and we had plenty of shower towels and beach towels. We had easy communication with the property manager but really didn't need anything. We received everything we needed to check in and out in an email a few days before the trip and didn't have any additional questions. Would absolutely stay in this home again!

Property was a bit smaller than the pics made it seem. Cute little place, best for 2-4 people not six, but we enjoyed our stay nonetheless. Pros: super close to the beach and house has 4 beach chairs, umbrellas, and some water/sand toys Cons: Cell phone service for Verizon is horrible inside the house and WiFi can be spotty with multiple people on it. One small towel rack despite plenty of wall space for two more. Kitchen is small to cook so plan on light meals

Great vacation rental!

I thought the space was immaculate. We loved the location- everything accessible (beach, bay, restaurants, bars, etc.)The beds were so comfortable. We had 2 things we thought might make it just a bit better. A floating shelf over the stool for toiletries and an inexpensive full length mirror on the back of one of the bathroom door. Thanks so-much for the lovely stay.

Clean and cozy

The property was perfectly located within steps from the beach on one side and the bay on the other. It was cute and clean. The only problem we had was the noise from the upstairs unit the sound proofing needs some attention. I would not recommend staying in August because there is no A/C and the location is blocked from the Ocean breeze. All things considered I would stay here again and definitely visit other Serfside properties.

Cute space

The house was clean and very cute. I didn’t realize that the building was 4 units so you are sharing the outdoor spaces with lots of neighbors if they’re all booked. Also, there were 5 of us and only 4 sets of towels so we used the beach towels. Small complaints and overall the communication with the leasing company was great and the house was well kept.

Lovely little beach house!

Super cute little beach house that was closer to the beach than the map leads you to believe (it’s about a 2-3 minute walk to the sand). Though the property is a bit older, the owners decked it out in new decor for a fresh look; beds are comfortable & shared patio was a great hang out area. Would stay again

Cozy place in an amazing location

You couldn't be much closer to the beach, the location really is fantastic. Beach chairs and boogie boards come in handy. The place is well decorated and in reasonably good condition. Overall was a great stay. The only things to keep in mind is the minimal soundproofing between units. We were going to sleep and getting up early, so at times neighbours would be keeping us awake with footsteps and conversations next door. We also worked during our trip, the WIFI was generally good, but a little unreliable at times. Unfortunately we did not have direct access to the router so there wasn't much that could be done when wifi started bugging out during a zoom call. Minor things, if you're renting this place for a beach getaway weekend with family and friends, you can't go wrong.

Sewer piping does not work

In a 5 week period we had sewer cleaning 6 times. The underground pipe is old cast iron and needs to be replaced. No one responded to the emergency number on Sunday when we had raw sewage backed up into the bathtub. VRBO needs to stop listing this property until pipe is fixed.

California Beach trip

This property was great for the 4 of us. It is super close to Mission Beach, it had everything we needed for our 4 day stay. The parking can get a bit tight, a smaller vehicle will have an easier time - but it worked great for us. We will totally consider coming here again.

Our family had a great time here! Right between the bay and the ocean- we loved being so close to both. The outdoor spaces are shared, but it worked out nicely. The kitchen area is small but worked out just fine. Everything was clean and the beds were comfy. The location was everything! We would stay here again.
