My husband and I live in Omaha, NE, but drive to Salina a few times a year for shows at the beautiful Stiefel Theatre which we absolutely love. Instead of staying in the hotel right by the theater, this time, we stayed in this charming house. I am so glad we did.I'm pretty sure I lived here in another life - that's how "at home" I felt - lol. Not only was it extremely clean and beautifully furnished and decorated, it was comfortable, accommodating, inviting, and had a sense of peace about it. If you want a house with recent construction and no soul, then I recommend you not stay here. Because this house has a history. It has character. It has steps that talk to you when you walk up them and a porch that welcomes the observation of passing life as you read a book while lying on the large, comfy bench or feel sunshine on your bare feet, or do absolutely nothing.This house is not just a bed to sleep in and a place to take a shower. It's an experience for those who choose to take advantage of it. It's part of a neighborhood and community. It is full of a joy and positive presence - and the serene backdrop allows the inhabitant to fill it with whatever is desired. Whatever is discovered.I have already booked a return stay. The hosts are wonderful and quickly respond to messages. Our entire time in this jewel of a habitat was a gift that filled me with gratitude. If you stay here, please fully take advantage of what the space has to offer - and cherish it.
