Welcome to "The 1A Escape", Rye's newest boutique rental accommodation. With 10 units on the property, all with stunning water views, across the street from the ocean, and a short walk to Wallis Sands Beach. Unit 7 specifically features sizable front windows with an ocean view and a comfortable couch to accompany it. Don't want to sit inside to enjoy the view? Relax on your large private deck with ample outdoor furniture for the whole family to join in on taking in the breathtaking sites.

These items are intended to get you through the first few days of your stay. If you anticipate needing more, please plan to bring additional supplies.

✫ We do allow larger parties to book multiple units at once. Please message us if you're looking to book multiple units to host a larger group



Cleaning - Our cleaners are taking extra care to disinfect frequently touched surfaces between reservations (doorknobs, surfaces, light switches, remote controls, tables, fan and lamp chains, thermostats, etc).

Important - We have a Ring Doorbell Camera on the exterior of our property facing the outside of our entrance. This is not monitored but does record. We also have a Minut noise monitor system located inside the property in the kitchen/living room. This is a smart home device that measures volume levels throughout the property, it does not record sound but allows us to respond to noise nuisances in a timely manner to ensure all neighbors are being respected. Minute is 100% privacy compliant and is required on this property. These are to keep all guests safe and to keep the property secure. Thanks for understanding!

The Neighborhood:

The Town of Rye, New Hampshire is located on the Atlantic Coast, a one hour drive by car from Boston, Massachusetts; Portland, Maine or the foothills of New Hampshire's White Mountains. Although Rye has a total area of 35.5 square miles, 64.45% of it (22.9 square miles) is wetland or marsh. The Town of Rye has the longest stretch of coastline of any New Hampshire coastal town and also contains four of the nine islands known as the Isles of Shoals which lie approximately ten miles off the Rye shores. Rye is known for it's beautiful unique beaches, tasty seafood, plenty of coastal fun and is ideally sandwiched between Hampton to it's south and Portsmouth to it's north.

Location

We were looking for a peaceful relaxing getaway and found a gem. Great ocean location along A1A in Rye, close to Portsmouth and Hampton. Bring your camera, the view is magnificent! We will stay here again. Thank you!

Enjoyed our stay, very relaxing.

We had a wonderful weekend stay. The location was great being literally right across from the ocean and within close proximity to Dover, Portsmouth and Kittery. Communication was perfect and the property had everything we needed. The only comments I will make in full transparency is that the listing pictures make everything look like a 5-star property. It is nice but just know it’s very much a renovated rental that doesn’t have the feel of “high end finishes” you might expect. Overall we had a great weekend and felt the rates were very fair. If I go back to the area, this is a property that I would consider again among others.

Can’t beat that view!

Lovely setting! Really enjoyed Every part of the property. The only Issue I had was communicating with VRBO. Once we got in touch with the host all went well. I couldn’t sign in to VRBO app. Very frustrating. Host was Very accommodating. Would love to stay again.

Arriving late in the evening is always a worry when traveling; however, Snug Harbor's hospitality, accommodations, cleanliness, and available coffee :) allowed us to settle right in. The views are breathtaking and the sunrises are worth the chill outside in the mornings. Close enough to everything but far enough to enjoy the peace and quiet of the waves. Hope to return soon!
