1 Bed in Whitchurch (oc-t41404)
This charming property, one of two set just across the road from Symonds Yat in the Wye Valley, is perfect for couples seeking a restful base from which to explore the scenic Herefordshire countryside. The village of Whitchurch is the gateway to outdoor adventures in the magnificent Wye Valley. There are year-round activities to enjoy including, peaceful riverside walks, hikes, cycle trails or canoeing on the River Wye. Historic Goodrich, 2 miles away, is a must-visit for its 13th-century castle and the popular Coppett Hill Trail. The Forest of Dean is under 10 miles away and invites you to discover the many cycle or walking trails through the historic and ancient woodland. Two ideal destinations within 10 miles are the market towns of Ross-on-Wye, with its 17th-century market house and Tudor architecture and over the border in Wales, Monmouth, the birthplace of King Henry V and home to local vineyards.
Stone steps wind through the front garden to the door of this charming barn conversion, which enjoys a private setting to the rear of the main house. Stepping inside, you’ll find a small lobby with space for coats and boots, and a door leading through to the main body of the barn, decorated with calming hues and featuring attractive exposed wooden ceiling beams. The clever design of this inviting open-plan living space creates a cosy, warm welcome and is full of contemporary comforts. To the rear of the main space is a snug seating area, where you can unwind on the sofa after a day exploring the breathtaking Herefordshire countryside. In the evening enjoy reading or watch your favourite programme on TV. There is a step up from the lounge area to the dining area, which has an attractive table and chairs where you can linger over a lazy brunch or enjoy a romantic dinner. The kitchen has all the appliances you need to make meal preparation a breeze. From the entrance hall, you can access a spacious double bedroom offering plenty of storage and views of the pretty garden. A bathroom with a walk in shower and WC completes the interior of this lovely property.
Wander outdoors to enjoy the private, enclosed gardens. Take a seat on the patio to enjoy the sunshine with a cool drink, fire up the BBQ, and enjoy al fresco dining on fine evenings. Guests can also enjoy the on site art gallery. Private parking for one car is available in front of the main house.
