The Gray Lady

This beautiful cabin has everything you would want for an enjoyable retreat by the lake! The Gray Lady enjoys some of the absolute best views on Higgins Lake!

This lakefront cabin is located on Higgins Lake in Michigan - Higgins Lake was voted the #1 Lake in Michigan for Clarity and Beauty and the #6 most beautiful lake in the world! This rental has two bedrooms and one full bathroom and can accommodate up to 6 guests. The fully-equipped kitchen features a microwave, a dishwasher, utensils, and dishware. The comfortable living area features cozy sofas, a fireplace, and smart televisions..

Outside, guests will find a beautiful deck with furniture, perfect for unwinding and watching the sunset over the lake and trees. Guests will also find a natural gas BBQ grill – this is a high-quality grill that will suit all your BBQ needs. There is also a fire pit that is shared with the "Master's Inn cabin."

This rental is furnished with cozy and comfortable furniture to ensure a lovely vacation stay for all to enjoy. There is a fully-equipped kitchen with all the necessities needed for an enjoyable stay, including a dining table for the whole group to sit around.

For extra warmth and ambiance in the colder months, there is a natural gas fireplace. In the living area, there is a cable TV with a DVD player. We also have kayaks and a canoe available for your use completely free of charge. There are two locations to launch your boat or pontoon within two miles of the cabin, the Public Access and North Higgins Lake State Park. You can moor your watercraft in front of the property using a "screw in type anchor."

This gorgeous site is in Roscommon, Michigan, and is surrounded by nature and woodland. Lake Higgins is right on the site's doorstep and is known for its deep and clear water that is perfect for fishing and swimming. Higgins Lake State Park is just a few minutes from the rental and is the ideal place for guests to explore the surrounding area. The Silver Dollar Restaurant/Bar is a short walk from the property if you'd like to "hit the town" for some food and drinks and not worry about driving.

While in Roscommon, guests are encouraged to visit the different sights on offer, including the Civilian Conservation Corps Museum, the Cross Country Ski Headquarters, and Campbell's Canoe Livery, where guests can rent kayaks and take them out on the lake for a fun day on the water or a fun float down the Ausable River. Roscommon Zoo is another great attraction and is ideal for a family trip for all to enjoy, especially the kids. Hartwick Pines State Park i Grayling is a must see for all!

Houghton Lake is less than 20 minutes from the rental and offers plenty more fishing and swimming opportunities for guests to enjoy. South Higgins State Park is another great park for guests to enjoy and is right on Higgins Lake. Huron-Manistee National Forest is roughly two hours away and is perfect for those looking for bigger and more challenging hiking trails, while they can retreat the comfort of their lakefront rental in the evenings. Traverse City, Petosky, Charlevoix, and Gaylord are all about an hours drive from the cabin where you will find lots of shopping, restaurants, and activities to enjoy. Grayling and Roscommon are also close by and have wonderful places to visit. If you would like to see the Mackinac bridge or Mackinac Island, you can drive there in two hours!

My husband and I go stay somewhere on Higgins Lake every summer. So far, this is my favorite place we've ever stayed. Cabin is cozy and comfortable, the lake is so beautiful, and I love having such easy access on a private dock. The owners were very responsive whenever I had questions. Great trip!

Right on the lake

I stayed here with three friends and had a wonderful time! The house is right on the lake with an awesome dock you share with two other houses . The lake is very shallow so we just sat in the lake all day although the water was a little chilly. Everything was comfy and cozy and the no AC was no problem with tons of windows and fans available. The kitchen had everything we needed to make meals. The TV with cable and Netflix was a nice bonus as well! There was enough paper towel and toilet paper to last us four days but no towels. I would definitely recommend to stay here!

Cabin was as described! Everything was fine! Enjoying the kayaking. Nice neighbors . There is a skunk in the neighborhood but no one in our party got sprayed. Would definitely come here again

Overall it was a cozy cottage! Smaller than even pictures look. Really should only say sleeps 6, 8 is pushing it. Outside area was great, loved the enclosed gazebo especially when it was lightly raining. We enjoyed our stay.

Charming Cottage

The Gray Lady has all the amenities you would find at home but with unbelievable views and access to Higgins Lake! We were able to take advantage of the lake and dock with our boat! The owners are outstanding and very responsive in a timely manner! We look forward to visiting again soon!

Listing is very misleading

This rental is a SHARED beach, campfire, boats, gazebo and fire pit... NOT directly ON the lake. Make sure that if you’re planning to use the boats to bring your own life vests as non are provided... The cabin is well kept, except the stove didn’t work and we planned our meals around that. Bring your own wood for fires in the evening as well. If a letter would have been sent to renters more than a day ahead of our departure, we would have had proper time enough to plan our stay.

Great weeks stay!

From check in to check out everything was wonderful! The owner Greg Checked in on us to make sure we had everything we needed. He even helped us locate a boat rental after our boat we had reserved for 6 months was rented to someone else :( The only problem we had was the loss of power 3 days in row. This by no means was the fault of the owner. Most of the lake was out we heard. Even the housekeeper Tammy was very friendly and accommodating. We will be back Greg just don’t know if it will be this cabin as the family is growing and we might have to have your larger house. Thanks for a wonderful vacation. Pete & Bonnie
