Very nice front desk and that was it. The sheets and pillows were stained, the bathroom smell really bad at all times, the a/c made so much noise that woke us up multiple times. I accidentally left 2 silver bracelets in the bathroom and I came back hours after I checked out and no one found them... Very unfortunate because the location is great and again the front desk staff tried to be as nice as possible.
I've stayed in over 100 hotels and hostels in multiple continents and I can say that this was confidently one of my worst experiences. This was a terrible experience. At first, I had an issue with the room type which as an error with Expedia, but the property was not helpful in trying to solve it and they were not understanding at all that there was an issue. Then, the elevators take an average of 5-10 minutes to arrive because the building has an awful structure. Then, the AC wasn't working. I had to change rooms 3 times (which they were very accommodating) but a good part of my stay was solving the AC issues. It gets very hot in Rio and they made it seem like it was my fault for wanting a room with a normal temperature during the summer, even though the rooms are supposed to have AC. The breakfast is extremely hot too, the view is spectacular but one can't enjoy it in a hot week. Some of the people working there are really nice, and some want to make it clear they don't want to help and just want the day to be over. I don't think this property would be bad in times of the year when it's not too bad and everything goes right. But if it's hot or if you need help with anything, this is not the place to go.
