Nestled among maples on a tree-filled hillside, this newly renovated cottage boasts stunning lake views. Relax with a book in the dappled shade on the wrap-around deck, or bask in the sun on the dockside platform. Play cottage games or have fun in the water on the oversized float mat, canoe, kayak or standup paddleboard. Create unforgettable memories as you paddle or fish on the quiet lake, watch the herons fly by, listen to the loons or spot an otter or two!



The Space:

Our pet-friendly cottage is just 10 minutes from the town of Smiths Falls with all its conveniences and Rideau Ferry’s restaurant and ice cream, or 20 minutes from historic, quaint towns of Perth and Westport. Hike or bike the nearby trails, golf, take in a movie at the Port Elmsley drive-in theatre, or go antiquing. End each day by toasting marshmallows at the firepit, soaking in the spectacular sunsets over the water, and some star gazing. Come and enjoy the peace and serenity of this cosy retreat, and leave feeling rejuvenated and connected to nature.



This cosy cottage features an open concept with dining, modern kitchen and living areas looking out to the lake, 2 bedrooms and newly renovated bathroom. Best suited for families with school age kids or older, or couples/friends who are sharing. A bonus room on the lower floor provides an extra bunkbed and ‘game room’, or you can chill in the swinging chair or hot tub. Furry friends welcome! Hillside steps down to the lake may not be suited to very small children or those with mobility issues. Equipped with a canoe, kayaks, and inflatable stand up paddleboard. A selection of lifejackets, towels and water shoes are provided, but feel free to bring your own to ensure proper sizing.



Rideau Ferry and Cataraqui Trail are both less than 10 minutes away!

The lake

Access to the lake is by stairs.

Otter lake is known for its clear water, great fishing, and being a quiet refuge for paddlers and wildlife. The lake and its shallow bays are home to many birds, fish, turtles, harmless snakes, otters and more. The water is shallow to chest deep by the dock, with some aquatic plants due to the healthy ecology. Water shoes are strongly recommended due to the rocky bottom. Our outdoor lighting maintains 'dark sky' guidelines in accordance with Otter's Lake conservation practices!

Pet access

Pets are allowed at this property but must be disclosed. Pets are not allowed on furniture, which includes beds.

• Price: Free/Included in booking price

• Costs associated with damages caused by pets will be pursued and not included in the pet fee.



If bringing a service animal, it is the expectation the pet accompanies the owner at all times and can not be left at the property alone.
