Set on a vast estate of rolling hills, chestnut forests and roaming deer, yet close to the famous designer outlets just outside Florence, Villino Lepre is just perfect for a couple or small family wanting to make the most of this enchanting region.

The views from the charming first-floor bedroom are especially mesmerising – the pretty queen-size bed is perfectly positioned by the arched window to frame the glorious landscapes. There is also a delightful en suite bathroom whilst downstairs a characterful living area with sofa-bed and open-plan kitchen featuring a wood-burning oven and traditional fireplace alongside modern comforts such as satellite TV and air-conditioning. Pretty doors leading to the garden flood light into this relaxing and typically Tuscan holiday home.

On the lower ground floor you will find the luxury of a hydromassage spa, steam room and shower for a touch of pampering, such a unique feature for a one-bedroom villa. Of course, there are also ample opportunities to relax in the gorgeous grounds with a gazebo, barbecue and herb garden. The swimming pool is also such a joy during warm summer months.

Take long walks through the woodland and hills, perhaps coming across wild goats or hares, taking in the glorious scenery all around you. The 300-hectare estate also includes the larger I Tebaldi and Casa Marlena - each villa is privately positioned a short drive from each other, perhaps ideal for accompanying family or friends who wish to retain their own privacy.

As well as shopping for high-end brands such as D&G and Gucci in the nearby malls, the grand city of Florence is just half an hour drive away or hop on a train from a nearby village. Arezzo and Siena can also be visited for a wonderful day out or spend time exploring some of the more remote villages of the enchanting Casentino valley.

The vineyards and idyllic villages of the Chianti region are also close by or head a little further to sample Vino Nobile in Montepulciano or a glass of Vernaccia in San Gimignano. Not to mention the incredible rustic cuisine of this area from chestnuts and truffles from nearby forests to ribollita and wild boar – Tuscany is a paradise for foodies and wine connoisseurs alike.

Location:

Villino Lepre is in a hillside setting with stunning views of the mountains, set in a 300-hectare estate with chestnut and oak forests, wild fields and numerous walking trails. Yet despite this rural location in the Valdarno valley, it is only a very short drive from the famous designer shopping outlets such as The Mall and just half an hour south-east of Florence.

The nearest amenities are around a 3km drive away where you will find a small supermarket and a handful of restaurants dotted around, also close to the famous designer shopping outlets. Look out for high-end brands such as Burberry, Gucci and D&G amongst many more.

It goes without saying that Florence (32km) is a wonderful day out with is historic centre, picturesque squares, shopping, galleries, museums and fantastic restaurants. The artistic city of Arezzo is another fine day trip with its exquisite historic buildings as well as San Francesco Basilica with its famous frescoes. Close to Arezzo is the enchanting Casentino valley and historic villages such as Poppi with its famous castle.

The vineyards and idyllic villages of the Chainti region are also close by such as Greve, Radda and Castellina in Chianti, or drive further south to visit the Renaissance palaces and Vino Nobile vineyards of Montepulciano (90km).

Other gorgeous villages to explore including San Miniato, San Gimignano and Empoli, all within an hour or so, and of course the romantic city of Siena (75km) with its famous duomo and characterful ambience.

Closer to home, hire mountain bikes for cycling across the estate and beyond or admire the scenery on horse back with an equestrian centre around 5km away. There is a nearby lake for fishing and golf-lovers can play at the Circolo Golf dell'Ugolino, just 30km away.
