Picture perfect expansive family cabin right on the river in the Upper Red River Valley, located at 22 Monte Vista Estates Rd. "Wright on the River" will spoil you with this recently remodeled inside and out cabin with everything new featuring tasteful furnishings and decor! This beautiful, spacious 3 level cabin sleeps 16 and has nearly everything you can imagine to offer anyone looking for a relaxing, memory-making vacation! Plenty of room with 4 private bedrooms plus a bunkroom and 4 bathrooms!

Located just 5 miles from downtown Red River, this picturesque cabin offers River Frontage, sitting above the Red River and is close to hiking and riding trails in the Wheeler Peak Wilderness with a short drive to town to restaurants, shopping and skiing. We call that perfection!

Round up your family for a vacation of your lifetime! With decks galore, enjoy the large wraparound deck of this riverfront and serene cabin. Enjoy the propane barbeque grill on the expansive deck. Additional private decks off each of the 3rd level bedroom give you a private space to view the beautiful mountains and the Red River below! Beautiful flagstone steps to the river will take you to the firepit to enjoy those gorgeous summer nights! Kick up your feet on the wooden swings along the river and enjoy! Fish right from the backyard without ever leaving the property!
As you enter this incredible mountain cabin, you are welcomed with an abundance of elegant features with granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances, Coffee maker with a regular coffee pot and a Keurig and a fully stocked kitchen! From the open kitchen and living room, enjoy the sight of the peaceful river below the property with outstanding views of Wheeler Peak. You can enjoy a family meal around the Dining Table with seating for 6 and additional barstools at the kitchen counter. Cozy up in the living room on the sectional with wood burning fireplace and large TV.
Off the Kitchen, on the main floor, you'll find two private bedrooms. One with a Queen bed and a TV and it's own bathroom with a beautiful tiled shower. Across the hall is the second bedroom with a Queen bed and a TV and it's own bathroom with tub, shower and double sinks. On this main level you also have the convenience of a Washer and Dryer. Upstairs there are two additional private bedrooms with a shared bathroom in between with a beautifully tiled shower. Each bedroom has a King Bed with a TV and each has a small deck for viewing wildlife and enjoying the views! But wait...there's more! Retreat to the bottom level for fun, relaxation and bunks for the kiddo's! On this level there is a comfortable sectional, TV, foosball table, a bathroom with a shower, plus four full size bunks.

There is no Sattelite TV, but make sure to bring your Netflix, Hulu and other logins to enjoy live streaming access to movies and more!

Clean linens, toiletries, trash bags, an initial supply of toilet paper and paper towels, dish washing liquid and detergent are provided. We provide 1 bath towel, 1 hand towel and 1 wash cloth per person. You are welcome to launder these towels for further use. A washer and dryer are provided for your convenience.

Absolutely perfect for our family with small children. Every space was great for being together. Also, for when needed your own space. The only downside was stairs getting into the main house and the path to the river was a tad difficult. Other than that plenty of rooms, bathrooms, amenities, and fantastic veiws in a peaceful environment. Thank you for making our stay memorerable.

This place is absolutely beautiful—we would love to return. There were just a few minor details, like some cobwebs, a few walls that could use cleaning, and a shower curtain that might need replacing due to odor. That said, I tend to notice things others might not, so most guests may not even be aware of them. Overall, the setting is stunning, with the river and forest right in the backyard, and the location is fantastic.

The house was awesome! The deck is where it’s at. Access to the river is a little steep but easily doable. Easy to get to and very nice on the inside. There was plenty of dishes and cookware. If I had one minor complaint it would be there is no trash dumpster. You have to take it to town. Our whole family loved it and will definitely stay here again!

We had such a wonderful time in your home! The space was just what we needed (5 adults and 7 kids)! Plenty of space to gather and eat/play games but also space for everyone to not feel crowded. Plenty of couch spaces and beds! Very clean and organized. We’d love to come back again!

Our family ranged from 6 months to 101 years old. We had 13 people and more than enough room. Very nice cabin and beautiful scenery. If you are staying in the summer you may want to bring a fan for the upstairs bedroom. If we all go again, I will definitely stay here again.

Perfect Thanksgiving getaway!

Wright on the River was a perfect place to celebrate Thanksgiving with our family of 12. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to prepare our meal. The sleeping arrangements made it easy for all to have a separate cozy area. We were concerned that it was located a little ways outside Red River -but that made it special - located in the upper valley! Just beautiful! Thank you for sharing your home with us.

Family Fall Break 2022

We loved our fall break in this beautiful cabin! Perfect layout for our family of 11. Five kids ages 8-13 loved the lowest level with bunks, den and full bath. Main level was great for grandparents (2 bedrooms/2 baths), large kitchen, dining & family rm w/FP and parents had the 2 upper level King bedrooms with full bath. Red river below is beautiful and melodic! Def a 5 star visit! ❤️

Family Time

Wright on the River was perfect for our family. Everyone had a place to sleep and all rooms had a bathroom!! There were some minor problems (toilet stopped up and the sink faucet is very loose-it was just an annoyance). They came out and handled the toilet problem quickly. We also had the friendly neighborhood bear coming thru the property everyday and that was a little scary but not much anyone could do about that but keep the kids close by and an alert eye out at all times. We enjoyed our stay and made some great memories!

We had a great vacation here. The property is beautiful and the house is perfect for large groups. The kitchen was stocked with everything you could possibly need & everything was very clean. There were a few negatives & I'm not sure we would visit again due to them. The house is advertised as on the river but there wasn't a walkable path. The path to the water is downhill with rocks and was extremely slick. There also is no AC and no ceiling fans in the bedrooms, which was probably the biggest negative for our texas group.

Perfect setup for family with teens

We had 9 adults and 7 teenagers and the house was a perfect layout for us! The basement held all 7 teens comfortably and kept all their teenage mess contained and out of site from the rest of the house so the adults could enjoy some peace. The way the kitchen and living room are open allowed us to do family game nights with ease for all 16 of us. They even had a decorated Christmas tree which made our present opening feel more homey and special. They also had a fully stocked kitchen so we could enjoy family meals together (the only thing missing was a can opener but that ended up being a fun teen activity 😂) We had one minor issue with a shower draining slowly but they were quick to come out and fix it. And when they were leaving, they went above and beyond and dumped our trash. It’s been a month since we stayed and the teens still talk about wanting to go back and how it was their favorite vacation!

Fun for all ages!

Wright on the River had so much to offer. We loved the proximity to the beautiful river. The swings by the river were very relaxing and the fire pit was wonderful for making s’mores. Layout of the house was great for 13 people ages 3weeks to 85 year old. 2 bedrooms on the main level were great for those who didn’t want to do stairs. The beds were very comfortable and the updated bathrooms and kitchen were all in good working condition and well stocked. Red River was only a 10 minute drive. We enjoyed shopping and eating at Sundance and the burger place near the candy store. Some got fishing license at Sitzmans. The favorite fishing spot was at Cimarron Canyon. We enjoyed a hike to Middle Fork Lake and walked the neighborhood several times. We enjoyed seeing the wildlife as well. We saw deer, elk and a bear. The large wrap around deck with 2 large picnic tables and other deck chairs were used daily. We have taken many summer family trips to Colorado but Red River, NM was awesome and much closer to Amarillo. We will be back!
