You won’t believe the care and love this charming home has been given! Updated and modern amenities mixed with historic and charming features makes this house a true hideaway! Enjoy the large open modern kitchen with high end appliances, walk in pantry and open dining area great for gatherings and holidays! Rest in the calming master bedroom suite with original fireplace mantle and its amazing modern bathroom. Relax in the comfy living room that’s cozy and modern , walk through and marvel at the central hallway with the amazing original woodwork and 10 ft tall ceilings! Guests can enjoy the second bedroom with queen bed , fireplace mantle and office area. The hall bath has a modern twist on a classic bath with subway tile and the original claw foot tub /shower to enjoy! So sorry for the delayed review!! We loved this property and will definitely book again in the future! The house is charming and feels spacious with its high ceilings and great layout. The kitchen is fabulous and stocked with all of the basics as far as kitchen tools go. The bathrooms were lovely and the beds were extremely comfortable. This location is fantastic, literally around the corner from Smokestack and the Oakwood Cemetery and within easy walking distance to other excellent spots like Standard, Jolie, Oakwood Pizza Box, Crawford and Sons, Two Roosters and plenty of others. The back yard and screened in deck are amazing! We look forward to our next visit.

Amazing location

Perfect location for our stay. 5 minutes to the Senate Legislative Building for my son's Senate Page program. 6 minutes to amazing restaurants. Enjoyed Crawford and Sons 4 minutes and Death and Taxes - 6 minutes. The home is very well equipped. Beds comfy. A short walk to the Oakwood Cemetery with its interesting Confederate Cemetery and great walking/birding. One of my favorite VRBOs. Thanks

Perfect house & location

The house was charming & in a great location! Stacy stayed in touch to make sure that everything was ok; I had to reach out on Friday night because one of the smoke detectors starting chirping- Stacy sent her helper over & Luis fixed the problem! The beds were super comfortable & the master shower was incredible. We would definitely love to stay here again!

Beautiful property, excellent location

We loved our time at the Historic Oakwood Hideaway. The house is gorgeous and beautifully decorated. Our family of four plus dog were very comfortable. The kitchen is well-equipped, the beds are comfortable, and the screened in porch was a great space for relaxing. The neighborhood is great for dog walking. We were in town to visit NC State, and the house is just a few miles away from campus, as well as great restaurants and shopping. Thanks for a great stay at this wonderful property!

Great host whon as very accommodating!

We loved it so much we asked to stay a second time while visiting NC and Stacy was happy to accommodate us, on short notice. We always appreciate a great location and this is one, as I’ve already said in my earlier review. We also love working with a great host and Stacy is superb! Makes all the difference and is so appreciated.

Such a great spot!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and Stacy was very helpful and lovely to work with. The home is warm and cozy, conveniently located close to some great restaurants that are within walking distance of the property. It has lots of cute and warm touches and we felt like we were in our home away from home. Also loved hanging on the front and back porches and spending time with the neighbor boss cat, Henry. The historic homes around the property are also a draw and a walk in the cemetery proved to be interesting and enjoyable too. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!!

Nice property. Beds were comfortable and the kitchen was nicely stocked. Living room was interesting and rear porch was very spacious with comfortable furniture. Front porch rockers were a nice touch. Would stay again.

4th of July Weekend in Raleigh

We’ve stayed in a number of VRBOs over the years, but this one ranks up there as one of my all-time favorites. The house itself was very well equipped from great linens and towels to a well stocked kitchen. The location was ideal and just a short mile walk/Uber to downtown area. All the above with the added benefit of a professional, kind and responsive host. Can’t go wrong with this one!

Perfect house within walking distance to downtown

We loved our stay. The house is very clean and everything looks new. The location is very convenient, we walked downtown for lunch. There is even a cute restaurant about 3 houses away. We enjoyed our stay with friends and will stay again the next time we are in Raleigh. The host was very nice.

Great stay in Raleigh!

We love everything about this home - location in historic oakwood in downtown Raleigh, the backyard, the screen room, the layout of the home , remodeled bathrooms and comfy beds. It is a great neighborhood for walking and close to everything downtown but in a quiet residential neighborhood. Be sure to check out some of the local restaurants and coffee shops!

Historical Gem

The integrity of restoration is excellent. Modernization where needed ( bath, kitchen and outdoor space). Very comfortable for lounging and sleeping! Excellent water pressure and temperature control also. We spent time on porch and very friendly neighbors. There is an excellent neighborhood restaurant at end of block. What a gem for a long weekend!
