Scifazzo, ancient Sicilian villa with pool

Ancient eighteen-century baronial villa with pool and terrace with panoramic view, immersed in the countryside of Ragusa. It is ideal for groups and families, a few km from the beaches of Marina di Ragusa and the main tourist places of Val di Noto (Ragusa Ibla, Modica, Scicli, Noto).

Exteriors
The villa, built in 1700 and renewed in 2005, dominates a big valley and offers a stunning panoramic view on the sea and the countryside. It has the typical feature of the rural farms in Ragusa: the entrance through a tree-lined street, the high walls surrounding the main building, the smart large “baglio”, that is a picturesque internal courtyard typically paved with white local stone.
A watchtower rises from the baglio and has a nice terrace and a stunning view on the countryside and the whole property.
One garden (350 sqm) with olive and almond trees and palms.
A big vegetable garden with fruit trees (figs, pomegranates), conifers, flowers and aromatic plants.
The private pool (72 sqm) is whitin a fild of olive trees and has a furnished solarium and outdoor bathroom with shower.

On the first floor, a terrace offers a charming panoramic view.
A rear terrace with table, chairs and barbecue to give the possibility to have alfresco lunch and dinner.

Interior
The villa has refined and tastefully furnished interiors, are embellished with antique furniture, fine pitch stone floors, vaulted ceilings and ornate wall coverings.
The villa is divided into two levels: ground floor and second floor.

On the ground floor there is a game room with a ping-pong table and foosball table.
The living area is developed on the second floor, which is accessed through a large entrance hall and a majestic staircase.
The rooms are divided into living and sleeping areas, are all very bright and offer beautiful views of the villa’s exteriors thanks to large windows.

The living area consists of two separate but communicating rooms: a dining room with a panoramic view and an elegant living room with a fireplace, lounge, sofa bed and TV.
The living room has access to the panoramic terrace and overlooks the inner beam.
Two bathrooms, one with shower, serve the living area.
A large kitchen (45 sq. m.) equipped with an antique wood stove and electric oven, refrigerator, freezer, dishwasher and microwave. The kitchen has access to the furnished terrace, garden and pool. A laundry room with a washing machine and sink for laundry.

The sleeping area consists of four bedrooms, all equipped with TVs.

A bit of history…
Villa Scifazzo is a fortified farmhouse, an old typical farmhouse in the countryside of Ragusa, built by Cartia barons in 1700. The original feature of the villa was antecedent to the earthquake that shook the entire southeast of the island in 1963. From the original nucleus, nothing remains but the cellar and the internal chapel, an element characterizing the noble residences of the time. The eighteenth-century building remained unchanged until the early 1800s, when the outer wall and the lookout terrace above the main door were built. The feature of the facade, however, took the form that still maintains in 1930. The entire building was completely renovated in 2005
