Welcome to Tandem House! Family-Friendly, Southeast Portland Gem!

Tandem House is a perfectly-situated sweet little abode; excellent for families, couples, and friends! Very walkable and highly desirable Richmond neighborhood boasts close proximity to all of Southeast Portland's many coffee shops, world-class restaurants, plethora of lounges and bars, and restorative outdoor spaces. We're just around the corner from Clinton Park, which is an amazing outdoor space to take the kids or the pets!

We are only an 11-minute walk from the Hinterland Bar & Food Carts, an 8-minute walk to Benbear's Beers and all the food carts at The Lot on Division, a 3-minute car ride to the famous Bagdad Theatre and Pub and all the amazing restaurants, bars, arcades, and public spaces that the Hawthorn and Division streets have to offer! If you're feeling adventurous, a short walk or drive (it's 1 mile away) brings you to the base of Mt. Tabor; the 196-acre city park that is perfect for a hike, a picnic, or a bike ride.The 360-degree view of Portland from the top is incredible!

Our home offers enough space for everyone to feel at home, while also showcasing her 95-year-old charm. During your stay, you'll notice the original wood floors, the glass door knobs, built-in-place cabinetry with the original leaded glass in the dining room, and the coved ceilings. We think she's pretty great!

Welcoming you as you come inside, you'll see the comfortable seating in the living room. Please make yourself comfortable! Our smart TV allows you to access all your own streaming services easily. The dining room offers seating for 6 and is a great place to play one of the many games or puzzles we offer, or to enjoy a homemade meal prepared in our well-appointed kitchen. Our large picture windows offer views of mature trees right across the street, and they're beautiful in any season! You'll find two bedrooms with super comfortable beds and luxury linens that will offer a restful nights' sleep. They both offer king sized beds. **Please note: Access to the sitting room with space for an additional guest is obtained by walking through one of the other bedrooms, but it does have doors that close it off. This set up makes for a perfect "family suite."

Our backyard is fully enclosed and is a great space to play with the kids. While enjoying the private back yard space, you'll be able to see a variety of local plants and succulents lovingly planted around the perimeter of the yard. When you're outside, you'll undoubtedly be visited by the two juvenile crows that were born in the pine trees behind the house last year. Their names are Cheryl and Russell (get it? they're crows...) and they love peanuts. You'll find some in the kitchen cabinet above the coffee pot. You can throw them out or lay a few on the railing outside the kitchen door and watch them collect their treasures through the kitchen window. It's really neat!

The attic and basement are our personal spaces and therefore, access is not permitted. Access to the garage is reserved for the owners, as well. Thank you for your understanding!

While we don't have cameras inside our home (we respect your privacy), we do have cameras and noise monitors outside. Please limit your outdoor merry-making to reasonable hours and make sure you observe quiet time after 9pm. **Please understand that if you fail to be respectful of that rule, and our few other rules, you may be asked to vacate our home.
