Urban Portland retreat near charming Irvington neighborhood
Fellow travelers, your home away from home is on the border of Sabin/historic Irvington in NE Portland. You will be conveniently located next to 3 bus lines and a quick bike ride or Uber to downtown, across the street from Whole Foods and the UPS store, a block from 2 coffee shops and walking distance to dozens of restaurants. Amazing, residential, safe walking or biking location! Fully equipped kitchen so that you can cook too if you want.
You will reside in the lower private ADU of our sweet family townhome.
As you walk in, there is a living, dining and kitchen space with a sofa that can become a queen bed. You walk through this to the bedroom with a queen bed and bathroom attached to the bedroom. Ground level unit, so you still get decent light and there are 2 large windows. Electric heating is adjustable in each room. No AC, but it stays quite cool even when it's hot outside. Access to the unit is ground level, no stairs, making it easy for you to get in and out and move your luggage about. Wheelchair and walker accessible (please let us know in advance so we can move the sofa a little to give you wider access).
We do live upstairs and you will hear our family noise upstairs during mealtimes and weekends. We awake at 6AM and are usually in bed by 8PM, so you will hear us early. Please consider this before you book as the space, though completely private, is part of our family home.
Guest access
You have access to all the comforts of home within this apartment. A full kitchen with range, oven and refrigerator and nice pots, pans, knives, toaster, and bakeware. Bathroom with walk in shower and washer and dryer. Roku TV and wireless internet. Keyless entry. (Sorry we do not have cable.)
The backyard is not accessible to guests at this time, and there is a lovely city park (Irving park) just a few blocks away. If bringing kids, we have multiple playgrounds within walking distance.
Other things to note
Your unit is completely private and on the ground level. You have separate access through your own door. Though we live upstairs, the door that connects the unit to the home will remain locked during your stay and your space will be entirely yours to enjoy.
Our family room and kitchen is directly above your unit and it is a vital, active part of our home life . We have 2 young kids so you will hear us upstairs and as we come and go as our garage access is right outside your unit. If the noise of kids would be too much for you, this is not the right space for you. On the other hand, if you have kids of your own or enjoy children, you may enjoy the happy and fun family noises you hear.
We are usually up around 6AM having breakfast and in bed by 8pm, so you'll get a quiet night's sleep, but if you're a light sleeper who likes to sleep in, please keep that in mind. We are happy to provide ear plugs if needed!
Unfortunately we can not accommodate animals of any kind due to allergies.
We can try to accommodate early check in requests if possible but unfortunately cannot have luggage left before or after your stay. Early check in or late check out will not be possible in the summer months.
