SandyCabins Duplex Beach House - Lake Side Cabin
This knotty pine duplex cabin is situated above a private barking sand beach on the beautiful Lake Huron. With a fire pit, a butterfly garden, and lots of sand, this charming cabin is the perfect place for a large family holiday or a group trip to the beach. Our cabin sits right on the water with direct access to our private beach which youâll share with the guests in the Garden Side Cabin. Donât worry, thereâs plenty of sand for everyone! A charcoal grill awaits your brats or steaks or whatever was on sale at Waltâs Meat Market across the street. This can be a quiet romantic getaway for long walks on the beach, or an exciting family splash fest with fire roasted hot dogs and scorched marshmallows. We ask our guests to leave the cabin as they found it.
The place was very northern Michigan style quaint. And clean. However, the property photograph is very misleading as the weeds are completely overgrown, making it very hard to walk down the beach as there is no path. Sand on the beach is very soft and nice when you finally get down to it, which takes about two minutes from the balcony of the cabin to the water. There are some minor issues in the house with the bathroom sink, not draining the bathtub, not draining quickly and some water dripping from the freezer onto the top rack of the refrigerator. However, the views were beautiful. The sand was nice and the place was very clean.!
Great location, beautiful beach! We had a wonderful time and enjoyed our stay. I would have liked some of the weed brush to be trimmed to have a open view of the water as the pictures on-line show, and the inside wood beams dusted, but other than that it was great.
This was our third stay at the SandyCabins Duplex. It was an awesome getaway and we were sad when it was over. What is not to love about the Lake Side Cabin - from the views of the water from the deck to a clean sandy beach to warm shallow waters that are perfect for lounging away the days in a raft. If you planning spending a lot of time in the water, this cabin is an ideal place to vacation. The amenities are as listed - all you need to bring are some groceries, your swim suits, and a few beach towels. We loved the additional couch and chairs that were added to the accommodations in the cabin. The ability to do laundry at the cabin is very nice. If you've not stayed here before, I'll let you in on a secret - the most comfortable bed in the cabin is in the loft - it's worth the climb up the stairs. We've enjoyed our stays so much, we have already booked the cabin again for next summer. We are counting the days - that is how wonderful it is staying in the cabin.
This cute log cabin home is quaint yet comfortable. The magic is in the lakefront views and access. The beach and sunsets were spectacular! We really enjoyed it and hope to be back next year!
Absolutely Beautiful Lake Stay. Cabin was homey and perfect for 4 Adults! And upstairs there was a full bed and bunks for a larger group. Very Clean and everything we needed! Highly Recommend đ
The location was amazing! The duplex was super cozy, the spiral staircase was a little difficult to use if youâre a wider person but super cute. Had a great trip and owner was great!
The beach was absolutely stunning. The cabin was nice maybe in need of a bigger couch or a comfy chair so accommodate more people. I rented the whole cabin front and back. We enjoyed the fire at night. My husband passed in August and Sept 30th was our Anniversary l just needed to not be home. It was peaceful
Paul was great to deal with and answered all of my questions before we got there. The place was very clean and had all the comforts of home. We enjoyed the view, the fire pit every night and all the walks on the beach with our fur babies. We were also blessed with wonderful weather. Thanks Paul!
This cabin was absolutely stoked with everything we needed. We enjoyed our stay and Paul was great at communicating with us if there was anything we asked him. Thank you so much
Canât say enough positives about this property. It is clean, private, well stocked, and has a fantastic private beach. The water is clean and has a sandy bottom. My family enjoyed the trip and we canât wait to come back.
Perfect location for relaxation in the sun on the beach and floating days away on the water
This was our second stay at Sandy Cabins, this time we were on the lake side. With the picture-perfect lake views and ease of access to the sandy beach, the lake side cabin was a great place to relax. The cabin amenities are as listed, covering the basic needs for those spending time on vacation. The upper bedroom - with a full bed and set of twin bunk beds - is accessible by a narrow spiral metal staircase. Keep this in mind if members in your group have limited mobility. The kitchen was equipped with the basics. We liked that we could do laundry as needed on site. The mattresses are newer but box springs and bed frames seemed to be very squeaky. In addition to being right on the beach, the cabins are only a short drive away from the attractions in Caseville and Port Austin. If you have a wagon or cart, bring it with you as it will make moving your supplies/luggage/etc. to and from the parking area and the cabin. We are looking forward to returning the Sandy Cabins next summer.
This was the perfect property for our extended family trip. 4 families in two houses ( we rented both sides) . Beach is gorgeous and pet-friendly for a fee. Well stocked with towels and supplies. The washer was a nice bonus!
We reserved both sides of the duplex for four couples. We were there for a wedding in Port Austin. Kitchens were well stocked. Beds were comfortable. Very clean. We enjoyed the beach right outside our door.
The cabin was sweet, and extremely well appointed. I brought a few kitchen items in case it was only basics, but we needed nothing. We had hoped to be able to hear the waves at night, but cabin is so well insulated that really couldn't hear them at all. I'm sure in the summer, with windows cracked, it sounds great. Our one issue was the completely unsupportive mattress. The owner said it was memory foam and new, but our 8-year old memory foam mattress at home is much firmer. We spent the second and third nights in the smaller bed in the next bedroom, which was quite a bit better.
We enjoyed our visit. The weather didnât cooperate, so we stayed indoors. Most of the time we did a fair amount of cooking in the kitchen as well. It was enjoyable to have a bonfire and listen to the lake.
Was a very relaxing stay with beautiful Beach the cleanliness was sub par I was stripping my sheet after the stay and realized the pillow I was sleeping on had blood stains I was very grossed out
