Very nice, simple and Rustic “cozy guesthouse on the tangipahoa river”. Jeffery and Christie are amazing hosts and very hospitable. Although we only stayed for three days, The guesthouse was exactly what we wanted for the week. After spending time with family, we would return to the guesthouse to watch the river and occasionally see a friendly wave from a passing boat. We watched kids swim in the river. Loved that every morning while having coffee and meditating, we would hear a rooster crowing from across the river bank.Also enjoy the two very sweet dogs, basset hound “flash” and a black boxer “Yeager”. Our vacation schedule doesn’t include returning to Ponchatoula in the near future but here is the million dollar question: would we stay here at the “cozy guest house on the tangipahoa river again?
..ABSOLUTELY!!

Our host Christie is the best. The place was amazing and very clean. We loved getting to know Flash & Jager, not sure if I spelled that right. But had a great time with family and are definitely planning to stay there again!

Just a weekend get a way for our 40th anniversary! We originally booked this cozy cottage, but was surprised at an upgrade to one of their new private cottages as a gift for our anniversary! Jeff and Christie were so nice and made our stay much more than they had to. We had everything we needed and added a few things for the next guest as our little thank you! Friendly host, clean, private, quiet, close to just about anything you may want or need! What more could you ask for?

Great space, wonderful hosts and Flash!

Awesome space, nice and quiet. Used it as a place for my groomsmen to get ready for the wedding and it was the perfect size. Just close enough to the interstate/city but far enough away to be quiet and peaceful. What made the entire stay was the best bell boy/greeter, Flash! 10/10 recommend for a nice, secluded stay.

2 weeks of working vacation

3 of us stayed while we were working in New Orleans. The drive was nice, by the water and we felt way safer than staying in town. Jeff and Christie were wonderful and recommended places to see, restaurants and even let us get some pet therapy with Flash, their dog. Beds were comfortable and the property met all our needs.

It was really nice, the owners were very kind greeted us instantly when we got there the river was close to the area and it was very beautiful to see. It was very clean , Very quiet, no disturbance in the morning and at night. The owners let us know that they were available at any moment that we needed them.

Precious studio-style guest house. Owners close by and super helpful. Communication is excellent and Flash (the basset hound) is most welcoming, lol.

Fun little place

We enjoyed our stay. We were greeted by the sweetest dog, Flash. The house was clean and well decorated. It was very quiet at night. The bed was very comfortable. Communication with the owners was easy. The only thing to make mention of is that the bathroom is downstairs from the bedroom so for those that get up at night for “little trips” know you will have to go downstairs.

It was really awesome to stay right on the river! Visiting family in Hammond LA but didn’t really want the hotel experience and this gave us the feel of having a little home to stay in and feel like a local.

TN to LA for Sons College Graduation!

Our son and his girlfriend live in Hammond and he graduated from college last weekend. They invited us to stay with them but we like to have our own space when traveling so we booked the River Guest House. We arrived later than planned and we were greeted by the best good boy in Louisiana, Flash the super basset hound! The hosts had provided snacks, plenty of towels and the Guest House was extremely clean, stocked and well maintained. Did I mention that it’s right next to the river and has an amazing view! Our son and his girlfriend came over for a little while that night and we sat on the huge deck which has a really cool fire pit and comfy outdoor furniture, had a few beers and had a great time catching up! The couch and bed in the house were clean and comfortable and the hosts were totally accessible through messaging. They live in the main house and keep to themselves unless needed, which we appreciated since it was such a rushed and busy trip. We made quick friends with Flash and whenever we went outside we were looking for him or he was looking for us! He’s so mellow and sweet and we never even heard him bark! All in all it was a fantastic stay in a fantastic riverside guest house hosted by fantastic people! Flash was the best concierge ever and we loved having him around! Please let him know that we will be back the next time we visit our son and give him extra lovins from Jason and Lisa❀ We will definitely be back!!

Peaceful, relaxing and very clean

We went to Louisiana for my daughters all stars. We didn’t want to stay in a hotel all week. We chose this property as it looked like a great place and had a grill. We loved everything about the property. The river, the cleanliness, the ac, the beds, and the fact that we had our privacy and could grill on the deck. The couple are amazing hosts! Definitely recommend this place.
