Wake up to sunrises on Placida Harbor then spend your day on the beach swimming in the gulf, making castles in the sand, collecting seashells, fishing on the beach and catching up on some R & R, or take a nice stroll along the tropical sandy path exploring the island. You’ll most certainly want to prepare yourselves an evening picnic and drinks to enjoy your own Happy Hour on the beach while watching the spectacular sunsets over the Gulf of Mexico.
Sail your boat in to our private dock or let the ferry deliver you. Inside you will find that both master bedrooms look out to the harbor and have luxurious and comfortable king size beds with storage underneath and a closet with room to store all your belongings. The bunk room employs two full size beds each with a twin bed above. All rooms are supplied with luxury bedding and towels. The kitchen has plentiful seating and is stocked with everything you’ll need to prepare all your meals while enjoying a view of the Gulf. On the deck you’ll find a large picnic table and seating areas to relax in.
If you choose to stay in, there is a family room with high ceilings and plentiful seating. Everything provided here will be fresh and clean.

Great place to stay on Little Gasparilla!

Clean, well appointed and well located - docked the boat in the front and beach in the back. Worked out perfectly for 2 families with young children - kids loved the bunk room! Excellent communication with hosts. Would love to come back soon.

Beautiful home on a beautiful island

Our stay was wonderful. The home is clean, spacious and well equipped. My husband and I with our 3 small kids stayed as well as my mom and dad. There was room for all of us and we didn't feel crowded. Host were responsive and helpful. The home is right on the beach which allowed for nightly sunsets and easy morning beach walks.

Great home, great hosts!

Our family had a wonderful time staying at Sandy Shell! This home is well appointed - the furnishings, the kitchen, the comfy beds and the high quality linens - everything was perfect! The hosts were also very responsive and thoughtful. This was our 4th visit to LGI and our entire family agreed this was our favorite rental house. We will definitely be back!

Awesome house on the beach.

What a great stay we had a this house! Everything about it was great but the dock is better suited for a 24 - 26' bay boat vs. a large CC given the depth and overall amount of space. In the end we made it work thanks to the awesome neighbors on the canal. Guess I just need another boat:)

Amazing views! Great place

This house truly is on one of the islands best locations! Owner was amazing to work with. Very responsible. Wonderful views from bay and ocean side and you pretty much have beach to yourself - not crowded! Further north as houses are closer and condos- busier beaches. Recommend island grocery service - Evan was amazing! We also did the islands fishing charter - wonderful service! Captain Will is great! Only thing that would of been nice to have is a generator. We happen to be there in December when we lost power for almost a day! Very uncommon but hard to cook and keep food cool as the one man who sells ice was away! But we made it and not something an owner would expect! Kitchen has basics and wonderful to cook in. House is wonderfully decorated! Plenty of towels but was short on hand soap! Great vacation getaway!! Would come back again!

Best at beach!

This is the best-maintained, best-equipped, beat-supplied vacation home we’ve ever rented. Though we’ve stayed at bigger, flashier places, this house was user-friendly from the start. Kitchen and bathrooms appear to have been recently updated with top-of-the-line appliances. The beach supplies room was full of beach chairs, an umbrella, floats, and a paddle board, all clean and well maintained. The pantry was well stocked. The location was perfect—at the far less crowded end of Little Gasparilla. We had a GREAT stay. 5 stars. We hope to return soon!

Wonderful Getaway

This property was fantastic. It's been beautifully and wonderfully remodeled. We traveled with our four children (ages 13-21) and my parents (70) and it was a perfect set-up for the eight of us. We were beyond comfortable in this gorgeous home and location. This was our first trip to Little Gaspirilla Island but we've stayed at other similar islands along the gulf-coast and believe it's the only "right" way to visit the beach. It's so convenient to have it steps from your door - with no traffic or crowds. The sunsets are spectacular and easily enjoyed from the beach or house. To get from the airport to the marina, we made reservations with "Salty Girls" and they provided reliable, friendly, and caring ground-transportation. We ordered our groceries online beforehand and picked them up on the way. Salty Girls are related Pirate's Water Taxi so they were able to communicate easily with each other regarding our arrival and departure schedule and needs. You won't be disappointed with this home or LGI. ENJOY! RELAX! REPEAT!

5 Star Location Decor Views Service!

This beautifully remodeled home is steps from its private dock. The property rests between the bay and the gulf, and has decking one three sides, affording gorgeous views for sunrises and sunsets. Inside, the decor is fresh, clean, professionally designed and comfortable. We enjoyed many hours on the deck under the roof, taking in the views and breezes. The kitchen is a joy to cook in, with designer finishes and fine cookware. The beds are comfortable and the bathrooms modern and well-stocked with all linens, papers, soaps and even make-up remover! The “travel crib” is a new pack and play including an upper layer tray for infant sleep. The owners were extremely responsive and helpful with every detail throughout our stay. They provide beach cart, chairs, beach towels, and more! There is a brand new washer and dryer nicer than we have at home, too. Inside provisions also include a first aid kit, a lighter for the grill, and sundries you can use if you forget something. As we walked the beach, we met some long-timers who mentioned that the spot we had was the best one on the island! We could see why; located near the southern tip, we had unobstructed views and easy access. We never needed a golf cart! We could pull the boat around to play in the gulf right behind the house. We saw manatees close-up, many fish, starfish and crabs. The 11-yr old loved fishing in both the bay and gulf and collected over 100 tiny sharks teeth. Definitely A+ and we will return!

Amazing Stay

The stay at this property was amazing. They had everything that we needed. No need to bring almost anything except yourself. From a paddleboard to lifejackets to sand toys beach chairs and everything else you can imagine even a barbecue grill. You have to take a ferry to get over to the house which is awesome. We rented a boat for the week I went fishing on our own. The ocean is just steps from the front porch and the waterway is just steps from the back porch with your own boat slip. Communication with the property owner/manager was paramount and a blessing. Such wonderful communication with a wonderful person. Cannot Say enough about this property.
