Firstly the location is great. The rooms provide plenty of space and the building is amazingly accessible to everything in downtown Swarthmore. That said, we had a pretty poor experience with this rental host. The listing states that there are 2 free parking passes that come with this rental. This is a big deal because free overnight parking is hard to come by in this area. When we arrived and checked in, we did not see any parking passes and messaged the host to ask about it. We never heard back about the passes, and we parked in the spots we were told to through the instructions. We received a parking ticket for parking in this spot, and when we messaged the host to let them know they finally replied and said that they did not have the passes at the rental because they were lost in the mail. They offered to pay for our ticket but never did. We also had another issue with the air conditioner in the communal room. It broke after a day and began to leak all over the flooring, so our family spent a decent amount of time drying the rug, cleaning the air conditioner, and going to the hardware store to find the parts necessary to fix it. We notified the host immediately about the issue, but only heard back from him that they would send over extra towels since we had used all of them to dry the leak. No other assistance or compensation was offered. We typically donât feel the need to write harsh reviews on hosts, but the lack of help and transparency felt important to note.
