Villa Le Bos - Trois Chambres Villa, Couchages 6
This villa in the Dordogne may just change your perspective. In a little hamlet set on top of a hill in the rolling French countryside, just a short drive from Sainte-AlvĂšre, here you can escape completely if you wish. Youâll enter beneath a picture-perfect arbour, and inside the home exudes that same sense of rustic, holiday villa comfort.
The open ground floor includes the kitchen, dining room, and living room, all with the same old stone walls. Take the wooden spiral staircase up to the bedrooms, where the farmhouse feel is even more apparent. Here you can hide away and read under peaceful, age-old wooden beams. Outside, the countryside views from the swimming pool are simply idyllic.
If your family holiday takes you exploring, the Dordogne region hides tiny villages and market towns alongside meandering rivers and beautiful landscapes. Book a table at the Michelin starred Le Vieux Logis in nearby Trémolat or admire the beautiful views from the gorgeous village of Limeuil, one of France's 'Plus Beaux Villages'. Meanwhile, families will adore Le Bugue with its canoeing/kayaking opportunities and various child-friendly attractions.
For more metropolitan pleasures, a trip north to the market in PĂ©rigueux is worth it. Here youâll find stunning variety of fresh produce, bread, cheese, even foie gras. While youâre there, visit the Vesunna Gallo-Roman Museum, where you can learn about archaeology in action.
The best part - you're in the Bergerac wine region! With the handsome riverside town just over half an hour away, you'll find not only dozens of wineries, but also the region's conveniently located airport. And don't worry - Bordeaux isn't far either or venture in the other direction to experience the historic charm and gastronomy of Sarlat-la-Canéda, less than an hour from your holiday home.

Location:
The Dordogne region of France is one of the most beautiful and one of the most popular. It has lovely countryside interspersed with medieval villages and bastide towns where fairytale chĂąteaux rise from the morning mist. It is also a great region for food lovers - all the Perigordian specialities such as foie gras, confit d'oie, canard and mushrooms/truffles of all types are in seasonal abundance across regional restaurants and markets. Villa Le Bos benefits from a strategic location in a gorgeous hamlet in the heart of the exclusive Dordogne valley. The closest village is Sainte-AlvĂšre (4km), a charming old village with a bakery, village shop and a couple of restaurants. TrĂ©molat (8km) is another characterful village within a short drive, home to a pizzeria and the Michelin-starred Le Vieux Logis. Meanwhile, discover glorious walks in the local countryside and admire the stunning views of the Dordogne River from Cingle de TrĂ©molat (5km).  The Dordogne is a treasure trove of history, culture, and scenic splendour, and nowhere is this more evident than across the VĂ©zĂšre Valley. Immerse yourself in this valley, home to prehistoric wonders like the Lascaux Caves and the National Museum of Prehistory. Le Bugue (14km) is the nearest town - wander through its bustling market, brimming with local produce, or make the most of the fantastic shops and supermarkets. Le Bugue is also home to various family attractions as well as canoeing and kayaking along the VĂ©zĂšre River.A short drive away lies Limeuil (13km), a picture-perfect village perched at the confluence of the Dordogne and VĂ©zĂšre rivers. Explore its medieval streets and gardens offering breathtaking views of the river below. Meanwhile, outdoor enthusiasts will delight in activities along the Dordogne River â splash in the water at Limeuilâs river beach or paddle your way down the calm, meandering waters by canoe or kayak.Bergerac (31km) also beckons with its storied wine heritage and charming old town. Wander the cobbled streets lined with half-timbered houses or indulge in a wine-tasting session at one of the areaâs celebrated vineyards. In the other direction, riverside Domme (51km) and Beynac-et-Cazenac (38km) offer quintessential PĂ©rigord allure, with hilltop views, historic castles and postcard-worthy scenery. No trip to the region is complete without visiting Sarlat-la-CanĂ©da (45km), a medieval gem famed for its golden-stone architecture and vibrant markets. Sample the regionâs gastronomic delights or simply enjoy the lively atmosphere of its bustling squares.
