Vintage 1920s Speakeasy Cabin Overlooking the Sandy Shores of Swan Lake!

This vintage log cabin welcomes you to the sandy shores of Swan Lake, in the heart of Minnesota's historic Iron Range Cities. Hike or bike the Mesabi trail, tee off at the Swan Lake Country Club, or visit the nearby homes of Bob Dylan and Judy Garland. Enjoy the hometown flavors found in local restaurants in Hibbing, Grand Rapids, and others cities in between.

Located about 80 footsteps from front door to dock, down a gentle slope, the Speakeasy Cabin features a pine paneled great room with wood burning stove, pump organ, and relaxed seating all around. The master bedroom includes a queen bed, while a second bedroom offers two queen size beds. The secluded loft also includes a comfy, full size bed. All bedrooms have soft and cozy linens to ensure you sleep soundly. A spacious bathroom includes a tub and shower, and the kitchen comes equipped with everything from pots and pans to dishes and cutlery. Many historic touches throughout the cabin give a sense of escape to a different time and place.

Grill something delicious at the lakeside Tiki Bar, while relaxing on the beach. Or, cast a line out at the end of the dock. Sunsets, sand, swans and a friendly game or two of Yahtzee are calling you to come visit!

The cabin was great! There was plenty of room for our family of six. It was really easy to get to town for whatever we needed. We were able to host a small BBQ with family, and everything we needed was there. Carrie also went above and beyond to make sure we were well taken care of! The lake was wonderful as well: beautiful, clear, and peaceful. It was exactly what we wanted for time away as a family.

We had an excellent stay. We had basically 5 adults and a toddler and never felt crowded. Everyone had fun at the lake. We spent most of our time running around visiting family so it was nice to have a relaxing place to come back to.We had a short power outage and both Carrie and Andrew were quick with communications and keeping us informed when it was expected to be back on.

Comfy and clean

The cabin was small, but 3 separate sleeping areas and 4 beds worked great, so much better than a hotel room. Beautiful setting on swan lake. Great amenities for swimming and grilling, etc. Handy hose to rinse off. Pictures don't quite show that it's set a bit further back from the beach, waterfront. It's not that far, just thought it was closer. Cabin was just a little small, but very reasonable price for what's there for you to use, and it's very, very clean. Renter is very helpful and friendly and available. Great with 12, 15, and 17 year olds and parents

A Beautiful Place to Disconnect

We loved our stay. The hosts greeted us as we arrived, they are awesome! The cabin was what I was searching for; a little rustic but very comfortable to stay in if you were looking for an indoor trip too. All the necessary items for stay were provided. Kitchen was well supplied with the added extras you might not always find like storage containers and sandwich baggies. Appliances were all clean and operational. There were plenty of towels and sheets, comfy beds and furniture. We played games, read books and minimally watched a little TV. A nice yard in the woods with a fire pit and a charcoal grill was used nightly. Bring your bug spray, the skeeters were hungry but you’re in the woods and it’s nicely secluded. Plenty of yard chairs and space to play. The best part, a short walk down the hill and you’re at a sandy beach on a beautiful lake. The kids could swim, kayak and paddle board all from shore. Minimal weeds and shallow hard bottom lake. We brought our boat and jet ski to play on the lake with. There are lots of great places to swim around the lake including a sandbar. Fishing was slow, but we weren’t there to catch lunch either. The area by the lake is where we spent the most time. Nice grass area where the kids played catch and volleyball. We wanted a place to play, not be inside watching phones and TV, and this property was very inviting to be outside. The lake was beautiful and very few bugs. We had a great family trip and this property was what we wanted.
