Escape to The Coach House, a picturesque and cosy cottage perfectly positioned for exploring Devon’s natural beauty. Just moments from the front door, you can stroll along the tranquil River Taw or venture onto Dartmoor’s wild moorlands for invigorating walks and breathtaking scenery. The coast is within easy reach, offering a choice of stunning beaches for days by the sea. After a day of adventure, return to the comfort of The Coach House and unwind with complimentary prosecco in front of a roaring open fire, or soak up the sunshine in the walled garden.

The cottage has been thoughtfully renovated to provide a full cosy cottage experience with modern comforts. The well-equipped kitchen features an electric range with ovens and five hobs, microwave, full-sized fridge and freezer, and all the cookware and utensils you need. There’s also a washing machine and drying rack for your convenience. The dining table seats four comfortably, and extends to seat six guests using the wooden bench.

In the living room, enjoy a wood burner with supplied logs and kindling, a large flat-screen TV with Freeview and streaming access, and a selection of board games and puzzles. The corner sofa converts into a sofa bed for extra guests—please let us know if you need additional bedding. French doors lead directly to the garden, where you’ll find outdoor seating for up to eight and a separate bistro table for morning coffee.

Upstairs, the bedrooms offer a double bed in one room and two singles in the other, with ample storage, touch-dimmable lamps, alarm clocks, and charging points. Both rooms are equipped with hairdryers and straighteners, and one features a selection of books for all ages. The modern bathroom has a shower, sink, and toilet.

Parking is available on the gravel drive for a small car, with alternative parking on the main road just a minute’s walk away for larger vehicles.

Enjoy vibrant seaside towns filled with shops, restaurants, bars, and coffee shops—perfect for a day trip or a change of pace from the moors. Widemouth Bay, in particular, is a favorite for both families and surfers, boasting Blue Flag waters and surf schools for all abilities.

Closer to home, the bustling market town of Okehampton is just four miles away, offering independent shops, cozy cafes, and welcoming pubs for a true taste of Devon life. Holsworthy, 23 miles away, provides additional shopping and a lively weekly market. The area is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts, with opportunities for walking, cycling, horse riding, golf, fishing, and more—all set against the stunning backdrop of Dartmoor’s rugged scenery.

Within a ten-minute stroll from The Coach House, you’ll find a peaceful riverside path along the River Taw and the scenic climb up White Rock Hill, offering panoramic views of the village. In the heart of the village, two inviting pubs await: The Taw River Inn, with its delicious food and sunny beer garden, and The Devonshire Inn, with traditional charm and folk music nights. The village shop is well-stocked with daily essentials and freshly baked goods, and even has space to enjoy a morning coffee.
