Welcome to our family beach home, with a partial sea view from the back deck and a front porch shaded by oak trees. Located in the quiet Yaupon area of Oak Island, this “home away from home” is only steps away from the beach so you do not have to pay parking fees to enjoy the beach or pier. Enjoy beautiful sunrises over the nearby pier and spectacular sunsets along the beach. This ideal location is a short walk to restaurants, coffee shops, and more! AND you’re just a 15-minute drive from the town of Southport or a 45-minute drive from the beach city of Wilmington, both historical locations with more waterside restaurants and lots of family activities. So much to do - book while you can!

Our cottage is a single story home with an open and airy feel. The main highlights are a large shaded front porch and sunny open back deck with peek-a-boo views of the ocean. Enjoy rocking on the decks or sitting on the swing seat and listening to the relaxing sound of the waves crashing on the beach.

The quaint historic town of Southport is 6 miles away and offers something fun for everyone! Boat tours, ferry to Bald Head Island, Waterfront Park, and a variety of waterfront restaurants. The city of Wilmington is also only a 45 minute-drive away and while much busier than this area, it offers many fun family acitivities such as an aquarium, Jungle Rapids Family Fun Park, escape rooms, animal parks, and the historic riverwalk with waterfront restaurants.

What a stay!!!

The property was phenomenal. Close to the beach as listed. Plenty of space for my family. Clean, carpeted, and comfortable. Claire went above and beyond to make sure that I made it in ok, and that I knew when there beach warnings. Would definitely stay again.

Great time in Oak Island

Our family had a great stay here. Claire was so helpful, nice to deal with, and super accommodating. The property was perfect for us. 3 queen bedrooms, 2 baths, nice kitchen, nice gas grill, a storage room below the house to keep our beach stuff, in addition to chairs, games, a wagon, etc. that they have there for guests to use. We also loved the outdoor shower. It's only about 5 houses to the beach access, so the location is perfect. The only TV is in the living room without cable, but the streaming services were plenty sufficient. It would be nice to at least have one more in the master bedroom, but we made due. Otherwise, there's really nothing more I could have asked for. And I can't stress enough how great Claire was as a host. That really does make a big difference. Thanks for everything!

Convenient to beach & restaurants

Claire provides everything you can think of including the beach gear! We loved how clean it was and how close to the beach and restaurants. The front porch was so nice in the morning to sit and drink your coffee and chill; even on the rainy mornings. We highly recommend this location for your beach vacation.

Wonderful!

Our stay at Oak Island was perfect. We loved the location, the house was clean, and the new front porch was lovely for mornings and evenings. We had a small issue with the door code on the storage room not working and Claire sent us a solution almost immediately. A+++ we are looking forward to next year!

Beautiful beach house

It was first visit to Oak Island and we absolutely loved the town and the house! This place is exactly as stated, it’s just 100 steps away from the beach!!! The house is beautiful and has everything you would need for your family, starting from beach chairs & buggy to the instant pot. Our host, Clair was very friendly and communicative. She was prompt with her responses. She has a book that has lists of good restaurants, stuff to do around town etc. it was very helpful. We’ll definitely visit again.

Great beach house

The only reason I gave accuracy of online listing 2 stars was because the VRBO app listed 3 bathrooms when it was only 2. The website had it as 2 bathrooms. This was entirely on VRBO. This was a lovely place to stay with great owners. There were a couple of issues related to the stove that were out of their control, but they handled it perfectly. Would definitely stay here again!

Awesome Weekend Getaway Spot

We loved our stay in Claire’s home. It was clean, true to the listing, and steps away from the beach. Loved how it was walkable to other amenities as well like restaurants and bars. The porch was a great spot to hang out in the evenings. The beach chairs and games provided were a huge plus as well. Wish we had stayed longer than just a weekend but plan to return!

This is a wonderful area of Oak Island. Very short walk to the beach access. It has a covered front porch with safety gate, which was a wonderful place to sit on the rockers and play with our granddaughter. Owner was so kind to check on us during our stay to make sure we didn’t need anything. Many wonderful amenities! Everything we needed to enjoy our time together. Highly recommend!

Great getaway!

We stayed here for a last minute fourth of July trip, and it was the perfect beach getaway! Claire was extremely responsive and checked in on us to make sure everything was going well. The property is exactly as pictured and was very clean. We would definitely consider staying here again.

Absolutely great home for beach vacation

My wife and I (from Germany) stood at Clair's home to spend a beach vacation for 1 week. Immediately after arriving we felt like at home. The house was perfectly clean and everything you can imaging was available. Clair is a wonderful host and the communication was very easy. She took immediately care of a small issue and solved it. We can highly recommend this home, it's really worth the price. We will definitely consider the property again when we would be on Oak Island in the future.

Great experience

Claire is a great host. The home was clean and very well organized. The location was perfect. Our weather wasn't too cooperative but it did not deter us from enjoying our trip. We would definitely recommend this vacation rental for smaller groups as the rental rate was very reasonable and the street was very quiet which allowed us to spend time on the spacious front porch in the rocking chairs. A+ experience for us and we would definitely stay there again.

We loved this house!

The house was perfect for our group of two adults and four teenage boys. This is a vintage house that has been tastefully renovated so that every interior surface is modern and spotless. We are cooks so we were so happy with the well stocked kitchen. You will find plenty of gadgets (a juicer, grater. garlic press, etc.) and lots of glasses, plates, and cookware. We spent mornings with our coffee on the front porch enjoying the blue jays in the Yaupon out front. At night, we loved the back porch for grilling and dinners at the picnic table. Finally, the house is well stocked with anything you will need for the beach--chairs, balls, spikeball, toys, buckets, and a great wagon for transporting all of it. Do bring your own beach shelter and beach towels. Other than that--you won't need anything else to enjoy the beach, which is so close to the house. We will definitely stay here again.

Wonderful house for a beach vacation

This house was just about perfect for our beach trip. It is truly just a couple minutes walk from the beach access. And the house was supplied with all the basic things we needed, as well as sand toys, bikes, and other beach items. Everything felt clean, there was living space to relax during our non-beach time, and the owner was simply amazing with communication from the get-go. She checked in once via email during our trip, and while we had no issues to report, I appreciated that she made herself available to so readily attend to any concerns we may have had. We got some fresh fish from a local market and had everything we needed to cook it already at the house, and got breakfast and coffee from a local shop, both just right down the road. We had a great trip and I would recommend this house to anyone looking for a single-family sized place to stay.

Great place for single family vacation

It's tough to find smaller rentals in good locations in beach towns, but this house fits the bill! Kids get their own rooms, house has lots of useful amenities, location is awesome! The garage also has lots of useful items such as chairs, a beach buggy, bikes for teens/adults, and lots of beach toys. All things you don't have to pack for your trip! The bed in the master bedroom is a bit small for a couple (full size), but we made it work. The full size beds in the other rooms were great for the kids. Overall it was a great stay!
