BEACH HOUSE COTTAGE- 3 min to Beach - Remodeled, 2 screened in porches, big yard

Welcome to Skipper's Cottage! This newly remodeled home offers all the coastal touches you would want for your trip to the beach (special off-season rates available for longer stays over 1 week). The property is located just 3 minutes to the beautiful beaches of Oak Island! It is only 3 blocks away from the 9th Street kayak launch and scenic walkover which takes you directly to the beach. Rental includes 6 Beach Chairs (bag chairs), a cooler with wheels and a beach wagon to save you room packing! This property recently had the interior remodeled with a coastal vibe kitchen, luxurious tile bathroom and flooring throughout. Relax on one of two screened in porches with plenty of seating and dining space. The large yard offers plenty of parking for cars, toys and play space. The bedrooms offer a king bed, queen bed and bunk beds with full size mattresses. You are just a short drive to all of your favorite Oak Island restaurants and bars, as well as a short drive to the quaint downtown of Southport. High Speed Fiber Wi-Fi connection is included in case you have to do a little work during your stay. This is the perfect cottage for your stay at Oak Island whether you are coming to relax, boat, fish, surf, or all of the above and more!
There are two convenient beach access points: Middleton Ave (6 blocks away) and the 9th Street Scenic Walkover (3 blocks away) so you can be on the beach in minutes.
The home is equipped with a grill, fully applianced kitchen with all the dishes, pots and pans you may need, and a Keurig.
There are a variety of restaurants, bars, shopping and activities on Oak Island, and we are here to help you find the ones that will make your trip a rich experience! Beach chairs, cooler and beach wagon also included!

Our stay was good just wish they would update their photos of the place,alot of broken blinds that wasn’t shown in the pictures,I would have never booked if the photos would have been more accurate but I understand its a older place and a beach house that just needs more updates for the price you pay

The place was an okay stay, there are some issues to be aware of. The floors were dirty upon arrival, there were many soft spots in the floors which was alarming, and there are no closets in any of the rooms. That might not be an issue for most but I do think it needs to be addressed. They advertise 2 separate screened-in porches but they’re not in the best condition, especially the one connected to the master. Besides the floors being dirty, the rest of the place was clean. There isn’t much seating for the living room area, only a couch, so make sure if you have more than 3 people you are aware of that!

Great Family Vacation Home

This home was peferct for my family of 4 (children ages 5 and 11). Eveything was exactly as advertised. The home was clean and well kept and the host was responsive. The neighborhood was nice and quiet and just a few minutes drive from the beach. A nice place and a great value!

In town for a wedding!

We were in town for a wedding on the beach and had an overall great experience. The best part was definitely the location—just a short drive to the beach, which made for easy and spontaneous beach day. The house itself was cozy, clean, and felt like a comfortable home away from home.Inside, everything was well-kept and inviting. The living room was a nice spot to relax, and the bedroom setup worked well for our needs. However, one downside was the lack of a TV in the larger bedroom. It would’ve been nice to unwind there at night, especially since there was only one TV in the smaller bedroom and another in the living room.Outside, the yard had quite a few red ant hills, so we had to be careful when walking around barefoot. The unpaved driveway was also a bit rough, especially if it had rained.All in all, it’s a great spot if you’re looking for a peaceful beach retreat and don’t mind a few minor inconveniences. We'd definitely consider coming back!

Fantastic stay at this beaxy cottage!

This adorable house is in a great location- very close to the beach and just a quick drive to South Port. It is charmingly updated and very clean. The hosts were respomsive and helpful. They leave a little bowl of snacks and K-cups ascwell as a book in the house and area attractions.We will definitely book this house again!

Not Accurate

The listing did not show outside pictures, and when we arrived we realized it was actually a mobile home in the middle of the neighborhood. The place was updated inside somewhat, but the outside looked rough and the doors and windows and everything were in bad shape. the porch furniture just needs to be trashed, and the beds were very uncomfortable.

Awesome Stay at Oak Island!

My friends and I enjoyed our stay at this Cottage. The home was very clean and the remodeling looked very well. The A/C worked great on such a hot week. Plenty of room to sit and enjoy while relaxing from the beach. The communication was great from the owners and I plan to stay at this home again in the near future. Thank you!!!

The property site is accurate in photos. The distance to walk to beach was longer than I expected. However, we simply drove to the beach and easily found paid parking ($20/daily). Beds were comfy. Recommend a blender for the property (we did not bring). I like good water pressure and this property was 👍. Stayed three days. Beach is very nice for walking! Owner communicated very timely in booking and during stay.

We absolutely loved staying in this house for the quick few days we had at the beach! The communication with the owners was quick and they were so friendly. Everything was as advertised and clean. Would highly recommend to friends and family!
