LaBranche Sr. opened LaBranche’s Drug Store which was operated on the ground level of the property, with living quarters above. It was a fully owned and operated African American business, which boasted both Caucasian and African American clientele. The pharmacy, which was among the pioneering businesses in the area, provided opportunities for other medical doctors to start their careers. Over the years the property has served many different uses. Beginning the the fall of 2017, the property received a full historic renovation; returning the building to its original grandeur.

The apartment is in Tremé, one of the oldest neighborhoods in New Orleans. It's situated next to the French Quarter and is only a few blocks away from Armstrong Park. It’s also home to the best traditional Creole cuisine in New Orleans.

Lyft/Uber is recommended at night. During the day, you can get around by foot or bike.
