This two story suite has main floor with Kitchen, Primary bedroom with Cheater ensuite, Dining and Living room area with Juliette balcony fit for two as well as stackable washer and dryer. Lower floor has second bath with tub shower, 2 additional bedrooms and Family room area with bonus queen sized bed. Patio doors open to beautiful deck with sunk in hot tub and views every way you look. Stairs off deck lead you to private beach. WiFi 150Mbps fiber.

🏡 General Rental Policy
‱ Treat property as your own home.
‱ “You break it, you buy it” – damages or missing items will be charged at replacement cost.
‱ Report any pre-existing issues upon arrival to avoid responsibility.
‱ Let us know immediately if anything goes wrong so we can fix it for your stay and for future guests.
‱ Quiet hours: 10:00 p.m. – 8:00 a.m. Please be mindful of sound, especially outdoors.

🎉 No Wild Parties
‱ No loud or disruptive behavior allowed.
‱ If your group is disruptive, you’ll receive one warning. A second complaint will result in immediate termination of your stay with no refund.

No unregistered overnight guests allowed.

🕒 Check-In / Check-Out
‱ Check-in: Self-directed, anytime after 3:00 p.m. Door code will be sent the week prior to your stay.
‱ Check-out: 10:00 a.m. sharp on your departure day. Late checkouts: $50 per half hour (delays cleaner schedules).

🛁 Hot Tub Rules (Kootenay and Kaslo Suites only)
‱ Temperature: 95–104°F
‱ No children under 10, food, alcohol, sand, lotions, or pets allowed in the tub.
‱ Shower before use.
‱ Inspect water before entering. If cloudy, gritty, too hot, or has an unusual smell – do not use and contact us.
‱ Do not remove or tamper with filters, jets, or covers.
‱ Always close the hot tub and turn off lights/jets after use.
‱ Floating chemical dispenser must remain in the tub.
‱ Do not remove the filter cover on the Kootenay hot tub – it’s pressurized and can cause injury or damage.

‱ Grey towels: for indoor use only.
‱ Colored towels: for hot tub or beach use.
‱ Extra blankets: if used, leave out for cleaning.
‱ “Scruffy” towels: for pets, spills, and cleaning only.

🚭 Smoking Policy
‱ Strictly non-smoking indoors (includes vaping and e-cigarettes).
‱ Smoking allowed outdoors at least 20 feet from doors, windows, and children.
‱ Any signs of indoor smoking will result in a $500 cleaning fee.

đŸŸ Pet Policy
‱ Maximum 2 small or medium dogs, $100 per dog per stay.
‱ Unregistered dogs: $200 each.
‱ Pets must be house-trained and non-disruptive.
‱ No pets on furniture or in the hot tub.
‱ Must be leashed outside and dried off before entering from lake.
‱ Do not leave pets unattended unless crate-trained and quiet.
‱ Owners must clean up and dispose of pet waste properly.
‱ If fleas are discovered after your stay, you will be responsible for remediation.

🏖 Private Beach & Beach Toys
‱ No lifeguard on duty — use at your own risk.
‱ Parents are responsible for supervising children at all times.
‱ Beach toys (kayaks, paddleboards, etc.) are for registered guests only. Life jackets required; please bring your own.
‱ Return toys to their original locations when finished.
‱ Any damage due to misuse will be charged as follows:
‱ Paddleboard: $400
‱ Kayak: $500
‱ Canoe: $850
‱ Pedal boat: $800
‱ Paddles: $40 each

🚿 Septic System Guidelines
‱ Toilet paper only in toilets – no wipes, sanitary products, oils, or food down any drain.
‱ Dispose of grease in glass jars under the kitchen sink.
‱ Limit showers and laundry to reduce strain, especially in summer.
‱ Even “septic safe” products should not be flushed.

💧 Well Water Notice
‱ Our water comes from a well and may have a distinct taste or yellow color due to iron, especially after rain.
‱ We use and drink this water ourselves; Brita filters are provided.
‱ You’re welcome to bring bottled water if you prefer.
‱ We are not responsible for discoloration of clothing from laundry during high-iron days.

‱ Never leave food or garbage outside.
‱ Use bear-proof bins at the top of the driveway (seal garbage in a large black bag).
‱ Rinse recyclables to avoid attracting animals.
‱ Report bear sightings to us and Nelson Wildlife immediately.

Shelley was a great host! Great communication, and made it easy to reach out if we needed anything. The location was perfect for a family trip, and the house was better than advertised. Fantastic spot

This rental is great in every way. Roomy and comfortable. It has everything included from the kitchen the beach. A spotless hot tub. And the owners are so lovely and accommodating. The location is so beautiful too - a stunning beach and just five minutes from Nelson. Highly reccomend!

Beautiful setting in a very fun little ski town. Hot tub was amazing after a day on the slopes! Our only small complaints were bed was a little uncomfortable and the upstairs living room was small making it hard to hang out as a group. Overall great stay and would return.

Hot tub was hot, lake was placid, far enough from nelson to be super quiet, but close enough for quick runs in to town for supplies.

Perfect place by Kootenay Lake!

Stayed with friends for a recent ski trip to Nelson. What a beautiful location! The hot tub on the deck is the perfect place to unwind after a busy day, and the view is phenomenal! Very well-appointed listing, and an extremely comfortable place to stay. Shelley was great to deal with and always quick to respond. We’re looking forward to staying here again!!!

Family Get together

The house and location are perfect for a family getaway. its a little bit off the beaten path which is perfect for privacy. Unfortunately we had record breaking cold temperatures which kept us indoors but the large dining room table was perfect for us to stay indoors and play board games. The view of the lake was stunning, I'm coming back in the summer and take advantage of the beach access!

Family Getaway

This stay was perfect for a family getaway consisting of four adults and our lab. We stayed for a few nights during the week, and there weren’t any guests in the adjacent suite so we had the beach to ourselves. Shelley, who recently purchased the property, was quick to communicate and address a few minor items for us. We would stay here again!

Annual Koots Trip

We do a trip a year to the Kootenays with another family, making us a large group of 9 plus 2 dogs. Finding the right property on the lake and close to biking plus town is critical to keeping everyone happy. The Hideway has it all and was the first property in 5 years to check all the boxes. We’ll be back!

Great Trip!

The property was perfect and secluded. The deck and outside fire place was perfect for hanging out and taking in the amazing veiws! They have a nice beach with kayaks and a paddle boat available to use. We will definitely be back in the fall!

Hidden Gem

The property is in a secluded neighborhood just outside Nelson right on the lake. By GPS it is a bit tricky to find, but less so if you follow the excellent directions provided by the host. We stayed three nights on a family ski trip to Whitewater. I would not hesitate to stay there again.
