Grandview - Luxurious Entertainer with Spectacular Views

Grandview is a luxurious home with entertaining and relaxation in mind, it has spectacular harbour and hinterland views, a games room, pool table, cinema room, 2 entertaining decks and multiple indoor living and entertaining rooms. With 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, Grandview can accommodate up to 12 guests (max 10 adults) in style and comfort.

Grandview really lives up to its name, with breathtaking views of the glistening harbour, volcanically formed Yacaaba Headland and open ocean to the east, Boat Harbour and the sand dune system to Newcastle to the south, and more of the harbour and distant mountain ranges to the west.

Ground Floor - Houses the cinema room with 9 electric, leather recliners, LED stair lighting and a 75 inch TV. The cinema accesses the pool table room on one side and the main living room on the other. The large pool table room features floor-to-ceiling curved windows, a pool table and a sofa bed (can sleep 2 children upon application). The main living area has a 10 seater dining table and a spacious, fully equipped kitchen with stone bench tops. These areas open via bi-folds to a vast timber entertaining deck, complete with an outdoor 8 seater lounge, 8 seater alfresco dining table and a hooded BBQ. Drink, feast, chat and relax while gazing at the water, headland and treetop views. There’s a bathroom on this level and a bedroom with 2 single zip beds. As you enter the home you’re greeted by modern architecture and two storey high ceilings, leading to a grand staircase.

Top Floor - Features a second lounge room with TV, a bathroom and another balcony with an outdoor lounge suite. The master bedroom has a king bed, TV, ensuite with free-standing bath and lovely views. Another bedroom, with 2 single zip beds, also has an ensuite and splendid views to the south and west. The remaining 2 bedrooms on this level each have a queen bed and one enjoys views to the east, while the other has views to the south.

Grandview has a double garage, laundry with washer and dryer and ducted air-con on both levels.

PROPERTY SUITABLE FOR groups over the age of 25 and or family groups only.

ACCOMMODATES MAXIMUM 10 Adults & 2 Children. The sofa bed will be added to accommodate 2 children ($100), total maximum guest 12.

BED CONFIGURATION OPTIONS:
OPTION 1: 1 King, 2 Queen, 4 Long singles.
OPTION 2: 2 King, 2 Queen, 2 Long singles.
OPTION 3: 3 King, 2 Queen.

LINEN & TOWELS ARE SUPPLIED and the beds are made with quality white linen. Doonas and pillows are also supplied.

Additional costs when booking:
Sofa Bed $100 per booking with towels and linen provided. (children only)
Port-a-Cot $50 per booking with towel, linen and baby blanket hire.
Beach/pool towels are $8 per towel hire/ per booking.

BOND - $2000 is payable with the balance of your accommodation and is refunded 3-5 days from your departure date.

All booking guests, including Airbnb reservations, are required to complete a secure online guest agreement within 24 hours of booking. This includes providing valid photo identification (driver’s licence) and credit card verification

CANCELLATIONS - Booking Fee is not refundable ($150). Please refer to terms and conditions for full cancellation policy. Airbnb Guests please refer to Airbnb's policies.

NO VISITORS - We have a strict policy in relation to 'visitors' to the property. A fee of $500 per head will be charged if additional people are found at the property that are over and above the number of beds at the property or guests not registered.

Toilet was dirty with rust marks, spiders and cockroaches. One crawled over my daughter whilst sitting on the lounge. Spider webs in every room, no air con or fan in the room downstairs. Theatre room under the chairs was disgusting. Windows were dirty and not cleaned properly. Glass doors would not unlock to be opened. Iron leaks, linen was stuffed into cupboards not folded.

Unfortunately the stay was completely overshadowed by the lack of cleanliness and old or not working appliances. The kitchen had dirty utensils still covered in food, greasy handprints on the cupboards, the dishwasher had previous guests dishes that I had to unpack. The oven didn’t work, neither did the ice or cold water dispenser on the fridge. Kitchen lights had cobwebs as did the living area, complete with bugs and spiders. The cinema room was just as bad — old food and lollies wedged between the seats, the TV in the cinema room was so old it cant play Netflix ? TV also had exposed cords, internet was intermittent. The floor to ceiling windows looked liked they had been wiped with a dirty mop and had very noticeable dirty streaks. Outside, the bbq was great. Some outdoor furniture was covered in mould and bbq seating area had stacks of unused tiles. This was so not the luxury accommodation advertisd, especially for this price.

This property is amazing from the minute it comes into view, you might like to download an app to find each other when you first get there . Our get together was perfect. Despite some really awful weather for. A couple of the days we were there. There is space for everyone to do there own thing or to congregate in the dining area, the movie room, the pool room the kitchen. All of them are large enough to accommodate a large group. The views are just simply stunning. The only downside for me was the various levels on the ground floor, as a mobility challenged older person negotiating some of the steps caused some stress, however the entire time was worth the extra effort because family time is so precious and spending it in the serene surroundings of this property was simply amazing. Thank you for allowing us to share this space fora few days

Amazing House

House was amazing. 4 families were in the home for a 4 day stay. It is quite a large home and divided very well so different things happening at the same time were not interrupting anyone else. TV in the theatre was very laggy to set up but great once something was put on. The kids left it and it kept them entertained/busy. Pool room, kitchen, rooms, house styling were all great. Did find the cleaning that had been done to be very visual/surface level cleaning though. We all chipped in to clean before handing the property back and found we were cleaning preexisting, dust, dirt, etc in the lesser visual locations.

Grandview for family birthday weekend

Our first impressions were good and the property was as we expected only negative of starter pack was only one sachet of sugar and no milk , we expected self catering so not a problem . Only other problem was sound bar not being connected to tv in cinema room and even with IT expertise proved unsuccessful but basic sound didn't spoil our enjoyment .Cooker and BBQ all worked well and crockery cutlery and cooking utensils were adequate for our party of 10 . The modern design of the property and very large windows meant the property was very warm for winter with no need for heating . Pool table got lots of use , a great rental for family group .

Grandview

The location and views were spot on. The house is designed beautifully but at over a Thousand dollars a night and being called Luxurious it falls way short. Chipped glasses, bowls. The exhaust fan over the stove had fat dripping onto our cooking and looked like it had never been cleaned. The container in the fridge for Ice and water had slime in it, the bath had to be cleaned before it could be used, the living area was full of cobwebs and my son in law had to kill a redback as it wandered down to the floor. I could go on but they have been made aware of the issues and we have photographs. They did offer to send their cleaners back but we were out as we were enjoying precious family time away. Would we book again, no we wouldn't as it was very disappointing for what was described as luxury.

Reviewer Comments: This house is a lovely home and we did have a great time with the 10 of us. Lots of space to spread out and the Snooker table was a winner. The disappointments were the cleaning was not great, there was rubbish between all the cinema chairs, cobwebs in family room, 2 toilets had not been cleaned. 2 out of the 3 Smoke Alarms did not have batteries in them. Absolutely no pantry items like oil, S&P, clingwrap etc that usually get left by people to use. If cooking for large amount of people, there was any big fry pans or casserole dishes. There was also a leaking roof that dripped in the cinema room. Downstairs bedroom is only room in house that doesn't have aircon or a fan. It needs a bit of maintenance with various items. A couple of the door locks have chipped bare timber. Overall the stay was good, but if you paying for a luxury home, you want it in A1 condition and this was not up to standard.
