We loved that each bedroom has it's own bathroom. Everything was clean and ready for us to start having fun! My husband had just had knee replacement surgery so the elevator was a must! The only question I had was prior to check-in and the host was quick to respond.We had plenty of room for all 9 of us to be together, or have alone time.

As a fellow VRBO owner and host for the past 10 years at Lake Gaston, I’m very disappointed with this owner. We had a deep sea charter fishing trip scheduled that was cancelled by the Captain due to unsafe weather conditions from a Noreastern hitting OBX and a Hurricane in the tropics. We requested to modify our reservation to a different non peak weekend (many of which are open and available to book on the property VRBO calendar) and the owner was completely inflexible and not accommodating. We did not ask the owner to refund our trip, simply allow us to move to another available weekend to align with better off-season fishing conditions. The 3rd party management company Seaside Vacations was helpful in contacting the owner and also told us that during the offseason there are several properties that can be booked immediately before our trip. We ended up not staying at this property and caution anyone who is looking to book this property in the off-season and worried about potential weather issues.

Parking was an issue as there wasn't much space to park. Overall, the cottage was nice. The last night there the elevator ceased to work and we there was a strong propane gas smell from the second floor. We did replace the can opener also.

This was a perfect property for our family. The elevator really was a lifesaver for the older group and the pool table was a benefit for all ages! Better views than I thought we would have, and it was a perfect location for us.

Wood railing support beams falling off porch No cable TV..only streaming (would have liked to have been aware as we probably have looked for another unit Internet would intermittently go off line for 15 to 30 minutes several times a day (Sun and Monday) Bed in master bedroom is old..squeaky and hard as a rock Other bed rooms had mattress covers that looked worse than you find in a cheap hotel Lights out in bathroom of master bedroom For the price we paid for an off season rental we were disappointed Vince
