The Space:
Beautiful furnished vacation rental near downtown Mount Dora!

2 bed/2 bath, sleeps 6. Each bedroom features a king size bed with soft linens and plush pillows. Large family room features a roomy sectional sofa as well as an additional queen size sleeper sofa.

Arouse your inner chef with our fully equipped kitchen with range, fridge, microwave and dishwasher. Kick back on the screened-in Florida room for gathering outside. Soak up the sun in our huge backyard with hammock and space for games & relaxation.

Lots of free private parking. Furry friends welcome (dogs only, pet fee $150).

The Neighborhood:
We are located on the very heart of downtown Mount Dora, only minutes from delicious boutique restaurants, fine dining, and charming local shops. This is a truly unique place. 38 minutes from downtown Orlando.

Getting Around:
Uber and Lyft are available on-demand, and of course the area is very walkable as well with many shoppes and tasty tidbits within walking distance :)

I'm happy to offer a 10% discount for weekly stays and 20% discount for monthly stays.

"Do you have reliable Internet & WiFi?"

Yes, we have lightning-fast fiber optic internet and WiFi, in fact, we're known for some of the fastest internet in the U.S., which we're very proud of :)

"What's the monthly rate? Can I lease month to month?"

If there's a full month available with no existing bookings, you're welcome to select the dates and the app will show you the pricing breakdown for your date range. We've had many guests book 30+ nights and we do offer a large 20% discount for monthly bookings. Also, for your safety and convenience, we only book through this app (no traditional leases or "under the table" agreements). If the dates are available, you're welcome to book multiple months and the app will charge you once a month (the same rhythm as a traditional lease).

"What kind of coffee maker do you have?"

We have a drip coffee machine, it can brew a steaming hot cup with single-serving or an entire pot of fresh coffee, per your preference. I’m also happy to provide coffee and filters, on the house :) If you have a specific brand of coffee that you enjoy, you're welcome to bring that, too.

Weekend trip

Property manager was very responsive and made sure to check up on us during our stay. House was perfect and clean and we were able to walk to downtown fairly quickly and easily. Would definitely recommend to others.

Very Cozy Cottage

We enjoyed our stay The Retreat! Perfect for 2 couples. Unfortunately we had to drive downtown because the walk was farther than we realized. I have stayed in several rentals in Mt Dora and I would not consider this location to be in the heart of Mt Dora. The beds were super comfy and the decor was perfect for the cottage. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you need, however I wish there were a couple non-stick fry pans to use when cooking breakfast. We used the stainless pans and everything stuck, not what we are used to cooking with. Overall we had a fantastic time and Mt Dora never disappoints, especially during Christmas The host was very responsive to our needs.

This property was cozy and perfect for our group of 4. We were able to walk to restaurants and shopping, enjoying the beauty of many of the sights of Mount Dora. We will definitely look to book it again on a return trip.

Nice Place

We stayed for a month awaiting closing on our new home. While it’s on a busy street it’s very quiet in the house. Host was very responsive. Wifi worked great. Really no issues. Would definitely stay here again.

Awesome accommodations and host!

We found the Retreat and Derek to be terrific choices for our first VRBO stay. Derek was very warm and responsive, and his place was perfect for our needs. Our bed was comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed! We felt like we were at home. The place smells awesome, and the central ac made it very comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed from toaster, to dishes/pots and pans, measuring cups, paper towels, dish soap, etc. The only things we needed that weren't there, we brought -- microwave containers to reheat dinners we'd brought with us. The refrigerator had an ice maker/water dispenser, which came in handy. We were able to walk into town from the house, and we drove to three nearby springs during our four-day stay. If we ever come to Mt. Dora again, we'd definitely stay at Derek's Retreat again. It was a fantastic break and he is a terrific host. Thanks again, Derek!! Carol and Rob

We had a great time. Derek made sure that the home (included bedding)was fragrance free- thank you! The place offered everything we needed and was very cozy. The location couldn’t be better ; walking distance to the lake and historic downtown. Apopka Lake was easy to reach with the car; we rode our bikes to see endless alligators and birds.

Charming Property in the Heart of Mount Dora

Property was very well appointed, we lacked for nothing. We had a very enjoyable stay. Property is located just a short distance from the shops and restaurants in Mount Dora. We will definitely stay there again if our travels take us to Mount Dora.

My husband and I stayed here and can't say enough about the host, Derek. He was responsive no matter what time of day before during and after our stay. The home is clean, fully supplied with all the extras. We would stay again and highly recommend it to anyone wanting to visit Mount Dora.

Spring Visit

Property was nice. House was nice but didn't know it was attached to another unit. Was NOT told about that when I reserved. Also....the property managers knew we had 3 people staying there but did not supply us with bedding for the 3rd bed.....the pullout queen couch. I called them and they were excellent at responding and bringing us the bedding but it should have been there in the beginning. Was not really happy that there was another attached unit also and should have been told about that up front. Otherwise....it was very nice.

Perfect location for a Mt Dora vacation. Relatively easy walk to downtown or a quick uber ride. The house is very charming, clean and spacious for a 2BD/2 bath home. Owner is the perfect host! Def recommend this home for your next stay in Mt Dora.

Nice property good location

Property was as advertised. Communication was better then I’ve had with other locations. All the amenities we could ask for and plenty of coffee. I definitely would recommend this place if you’re staying in Mt Dora. I know I will be back.
