- Expect paid parking around Saint-Denis Street.

- When in doubt, use a paid lot or reserve a spot via an app.



1. Street Parking (Free / Paid Zones)



The Plateau is a high-demand area, and most street parking around Saint-Denis Street is paid parking.

Metered street parking typically costs around $4.25/hour depending on the zone.

Paid parking hours can vary by block, but they are generally:

Monday–Friday: 9:00 to 18:00–21:00

Saturday: reduced hours

Sunday: often paid later in the day

Some streets have free residential parking, but these spaces usually require a resident permit and are not available for visitors unless a special daily permit is purchased.

Please always check the sign directly where you park—rules vary from one block to another.



2. Daily Residential Parking Permits (SRRR Zones)



If you prefer to park in a residential area where signs indicate “residential permit only”, you can purchase a daily permit:

PMR01 – All Plateau Zones

Valid in all SRRR residential zones of Plateau Mont-Royal

Cost: $15 for 24 hours

PMR02 – East of Saint-Denis

Valid only in SRRR zones east of Saint-Denis Street

Cost: $9 for 24 hours

How it Works

Go to any city Pay & Go parking terminal.

Select the desired permit (PMR01 or PMR02).

Pay and print the receipt.

Place it clearly visible on your dashboard (street-facing side).

Important

Daily permits work only in residential permit zones, not in normal metered parking spaces.

If you park at a metered space, you must still pay the hourly rate.



3. Seasonal Restrictions (Street Cleaning & Snow Removal)



Summer / Spring – Street Cleaning

Several streets have scheduled street-sweeping restrictions.

Signs will indicate a specific day/time when parking is prohibited.

Parking during these hours will result in a ticket and sometimes towing.

Winter – Snow Removal

During snow removal operations, temporary signs (with a snowflake icon) indicate no-parking periods, often:

7:00–19:00, or

19:00–7:00, depending on the side of the street.

Vehicles left in these zones risk being towed.

The city sometimes offers free overnight parking in municipal lots during major snow operations.

If you visit in winter, garages or paid lots are the safest option.
