River Time ~ Come Stay on the River! Access to Park, Riverfront, In Town

River Time is located directly on the Russian River and offers the perfect retreat for families and friends. With three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and over half an acre of yard, there's plenty of space for everyone to unwind and make lasting memories. Witness panoramic views of the river and surrounding mountains from the deck and many windows.

Imagine starting your day with a cup of coffee on the seasonal private beach, watching the wildlife come alive – diving osprey and statuesque blue herons. Spend your afternoons exploring the river with our complimentary kayaks or simply relaxing on the back deck. In the evenings, gather in the grand living room with loved ones, sharing stories about your adventures! Cook dinner – the BBQ is on the deck – and watch a movie, play a game, or grab one of the provided musical instruments.

Happily located in downtown Monte Rio, just steps to the Monte Rio Beach, playground, and community center, a very short walk to the Monte Rio Theater and Bartlett’s Market, and short drive to the Sonoma Coast, River Time presents the perfect blend of peacefulness and convenience for your next vacation.


Know Before You Book:

Maximum Occupancy and Quiet Hours: The maximum occupancy at River Time is 6 people not including kids under 3 years old. Quiet hours are from 10:00 pm until 7:00 am. Outdoor amplified sound is prohibited at all times.

Parking: There is parking for a maximum of 3 vehicles. RVs, trailers, and campers are prohibited, per the Sonoma County Vacation Rental Ordinance. The garage is not available for parking, but there is a covered carport for 1 vehicle.

Bed Sizes: Downstairs bedroom: Queen; Upstairs bedroom: Queen; Upstairs second bedroom: 2 Twins & a Queen.

Heating: Central heating and a woodstove in the living room (no firewood or kindling provided). While there is often firewood at the property, it is not promised. We recommend bringing your own or checking at the property before purchasing wood.

Cooling: There is an air conditioner and ceiling fan in the living room along with individual fans per bedroom. Afternoon and evening breezes from the ocean and up the river generally keep the rest of the house a comfortable temperature.

Bathrooms: The downstairs bathroom has a shower over a bathtub and the upstairs bathroom has a shower.

Location: River Time is in a mixed-use neighborhood. It has a variety of permanent residents and vacation rentals, families, working folks, and visitors. To honor this balance, we ask guests to park only in the driveway and paved parts of the front yard and respect the quiet hours in addition to general family-friendly, residential neighborhood expectations. Stairs: There are three steps to the front door. One bedroom and bathroom are on the ground floor with the kitchen and living room. The other two bedrooms and bathroom are on the second story. There are stairs from the back deck to the yard and stairs from the yard to the seasonal private beach.

Not Pet Friendly: River Time does not allow pets.

Fencing: Most of the front yard is fenced if the gate is closed. The sides of the property are fenced, including along the Monte Rio Park and Recreation areas, but the river-facing section of the yard is not fenced.

Work from HERE: There are two desks available as workstations: in the upstairs Queen bedroom, in the living room. A wifi booster upstairs ensures strong signal throughout the house and at each workstation.

A Note About TVs & Stereo: The Smart TV in the living room uses YouTube TV, Apple TV, and access to other streaming apps. Guests are welcome to bring their login info for these apps. The television does not have cable services. The Bose sound system uses a cable to connect to your phone and includes adapters to connect to all types of phones, but it is not Bluetooth.

Additional Amenities: There’s an outdoor ping-pong table in the carport area in fair weather.

Common Amenities not included: This home has air conditioning, but only in the living room.
Cable TV: River Time does not have cable TV but provides YouTube and Apple TV. See the note about TVs above.

Docks, Boats, and River Access: These are seasonal amenities and only available when conditions allow. Expect docks, boats, and river access when the summer dams are in (mid-June to mid- September). Conditions vary from year to year and can change rapidly – use your best judgement to determine your risk level and comfort in the water/physical activity. The river and riverbank change constantly with the dock and a deeper swimming area some years and a beach other years.
The dock is present year-round but goes underwater when the river comes up and is quite muddy until cleaned off each spring – this date varies based on river conditions. There are two tandem kayaks, when available, locked at the dock and stairs to the river dock from the backyard. Guests can utilize the beach next door year-round providing conditions are safe.

A Note About the Road/Monte Rio Park: River Time is on River Road/Hwy 116 which is a two lane (one lane in each direction) rural highway to the coast. While it can get busy, the house is set quite a distance from the road and the house is oriented with most windows facing the river. The Monte Rio Beach, Park, and Community Center are next door. The play structure is closest to River Time and you may hear kids enjoying it. There is a house between River Time and the Community Center and the Beach is on the opposite side of the MRRPD property. We don’t find road noise or sounds from the park troublesome.

Proximity to wineries: There are tasting rooms in downtown Guerneville (4.3 mi), wine bar in Duncan’s Mills (3.9 mi), and more vineyards and tasting rooms than you can visit within 15 miles. We recommend Westside Road (9.7 mi).
Nearest River Beach: Next door!
Nearest Ocean Beach: The coastal beaches in Jenner are ~8.5 miles.
Downtown Guerneville: 4.3 mi (for Safeway and gas stations).
Northwood Golf Course: 1.3 mi.
Sonoma Zipline Adventures: 4.2 mi.
