Lovely apartment that can accommodate 4 people, located in the historic center of Monopoli, in a period building with suggestive internal architecture and typical stone vaults. The flat is in an enviable position: in the heart of the city, just 50 meters from Piazza Palmieri and a few steps from all points of interest, but at the same time in a quiet area and a short distance from the buses that lead to the beaches of Capitolo. Cala Porta Vecchia beach is less than 300 meters away!



The 45 sqm apartment, with independent entrance, is located on the ground floor of a building (there are two steps at the entrance) and, thanks to the stone vaults, it stays warm in winter and cool in summer even without air conditioning.



The interior space is composed as follows:

- Kitchenette equipped with two electric plates, fridge, freezer, moka, electric oven and microwave;

- Living area with dining table, queen size sofa bed, single folding bed, ceiling fan and 32 "TV

- Bedroom with double bed, ceiling fan and wardrobe

- Toilet with wc, bidet and shower box (1 step to access it).

Additional facilities available for the guests: third ceiling fan in the kitchen area, heating with small fan heater + portable electric heater, washing machine, drying rack, iron and ironing board.

Towels and linen are included (with additional linen optional for a fee).



ATTENTION: The historic center of Monopoli is located within a limited traffic area so the apartment can be reached by car only at certain times of the day and parking is limited. From June to September the historic center can be reached by using 3 Park & ​​ride areas at a cost of 1 euro or by using the bus that leaves from the station for the center.

CITY TAX

The tourist tax of 1.00 euro per night per person will be collected in cash.

The city tax is payable for each overnight stay, at any time of the year, in accommodation facilities located in the territory of the City of Monopoli up to a maximum of 14 consecutive overnight stays for the entire calendar year.



The apartment is located less than 5 minutes walk from all the attractions of the city. In particular, just 250 meters from the property is Piazza Garibaldi, full of restaurants, ice cream parlors and pubs, where the liveliness of colors, sounds and scents dominates. Furthermore, at 200 meters there is the sixteenth-century Castle of Charles V, dating back to the Spanish domination of the city. The historic center of Monopoli stands out for its ancient port and a free beach. In recent years a series of restaurants and bars have been populating the monumental streets and squares, making this splendid town an unmissable destination in Puglia and Southern Italy.

- Porto Monopoli: 2 minutes on foot;

- Charles V Castle: 2 minutes on foot;

- Cala Porta Vecchia beach: 3 minutes on foot;

- Beaches of the Chapter: about 13 minutes by car (7 km).



- From Monopoli station, it is possible to reach the apartment in about 16 minutes on foot (1.4 km).



- From Bari Airport, in addition to the taxi/car (64 km), it is possible to reach the apartment by taking the shuttle from the Airport to Bari Centrale Station, and from there by taking the regional train to Monopoli Station, at 16 minutes walk from the property.



- If you are traveling by car:

The historic center of Monopoli is located within a traffic-restricted zone, so the property can be reached by car only at certain times of the day and parking is limited. It is preferable to leave the car in via Procaccia, Porta vecchia area and continue on foot for 5/10 mins.

For the parking in the area, it is possible to pay up to a maximum of € 4.00 per day in the period from 1 October to 31 May (from 8.30 to 13.30 and from 16.30 to 20.30 and only on weekdays) and a maximum of € 8.00 in the period from 1st June to 30th September (from 8.30 to 13.30 and from 17.00 to 24.00 including holidays).



From June to September the historic center can be reached using the 3 Park & ​​ride areas at a cost of 1 euro or by using the bus that leaves from the station for the center.

The instructions were video clips. It was not a clear process. Once entering the property, it was obvious it was not aired out. It smelled like a musty basement. It did not have the feeling of recently being cleaned. The bed was not made. The wardrobe had sheets for the pullout which were just stuffed into the cabinet along with a quilt with a burn mark or stain. It did not seem like they were washed recently. Sleeping on a bed with no sheets and possibly used blankets was not what we were expecting. Added to this was the fact that there was no toilet paper or towels to shower. We were not instructed to turn on the hot water heater. We had to figure this out on our own. The absence of WiFi only added to the dank and dated atmosphere. It seems there are some much better options in the same neighborhood.

Not worth the money!!! Property extremely over priced and furnishings out dated. Very disappointed with the property in general, particularly no wifi (which should be mandatory) and phone reception barely possible within apartment. Communication on checkin was fully remote and unprofessional with a few videos of how to find the door and key safe to the property amongst 100’s of other doors that look the same! No signage at all. Only good point was proximity to historical town, port and restaurants. Needs a significant makeover to be worth the money being asked. Would not go back

Very attractive building as per photos but no windows. Quite spacious. Clean and well equipped. Some of kitchen outdated and felt rather dingy. Whole process of registering on line prior to arrival very frustrating

First I sent multiple messages to the host and received no answer, just a few a days before arrival she wrote me to introduce herself, but communication was terrible. The apartment is underground, it was dirty, had a lot of spider webs, smelled like humidity, the walls were covered in humidity, there was no ventilation, no wifi, no telephone coverage inside the property, it was dark, dirty and inefficient. There was a broken iron and no iron board to use, the host said "use the table". Not even courtesy waters were left in the apartment. This was by far the worst experience I've had in Expedia, Vrbo or any BnB. Expedia didn't even bring support, as this property was listed by Vrbo, a partner. Sadly I went on this trip to celebrate my wedding anniversary and I had to pay another accomodation because this one was inhabitable. Thanks for nothing Expedia customer support.
