The property is located in a remote area in Yamanashi Prefecture, perfect for a relaxing stay. The vegetarian menu offered was delicious! Staff there super friendly and helpful!
This is our second time staying at Kakurinbo and we absolutely love it! The staff are always kind and helpful. The food is amazing. The room is comfortable and the surrounding are breathtaking. We hope to go back!
Great peaceful authentically Japan stay in an old temple. I highly recommend. The staff are super courteous, great with English, and the meals were amazing! Vegetarian yet very filling, flavorful, and delicious.
The whole experience was beautiful and very unique. The staff are super friendly and helpful, the food is authentic and delicious, and exploring the mountains and small town around the area was a delight. Our room was wonderful and very comfortable and the Buddhist chanting and prayers around the grounds was enchanting!
Such a beautiful location with kind and hospitable hosts! My boyfriend chose to propose to me here and it could not have been a more peaceful and serene setting. My stay at kakurinbo will be a precious memory for years to come!
This ryokan is beautiful and set in a gorgeous area of kakurinbo. It was a trek to get to on foot but it is on Mt. Minobu. A beautiful walk during the day and so much to see. The staff was so helpful with everything and the kaiseki meal is a must experience.
I just have to say that this place, though remote, is one of the best places I have stayed. It offers a beautiful scenery. The staff is very polite and attentive. The stay allowed us to experience Japanese culture at its finest.
The property is a beautiful temple ryokan with many old features still present. We did appreciate the welcome and learning about the hotel and the garden. The food was delicious and it was very relaxed having dinner in the restaurant area with separate eating areas. Wearing the wedding kimono's was a great and special experience.
Very unique experience. I loved the country side and staff is very friendly and accommodating.
On our last day, they packed onigiris and they were delicious. I still think about them to this day.
Great temple lodge. Due to shared bath and toilet, it is not as comfortable as hotel but it is an opportunity for enthusiastic traveler to get intimated with the old Japanese culture and the staff try their best to make you comfortable as much as possible. Nice and delicious Kaiseki (Japanese meal set). Staff are kind and very friendly.
Far away from Shibuya, we traveled over 3 hours via public transportation to get here. We arrived at night, and it was a nice adventure with family. My family really enjoyed the stay as it was immersive. There was a lot of detail to dinner and breakfast. We only stayed for 1 night for the morning prayer, which was an experience in itself. I enjoyed the long staircase which I didnât get the chance to run up and be sore for the whole trip. Thereâs a lot to do here in terms of activity, and the staff is quite impressive being fluent in English. The price was a bit much for me, but with everything considered, it was worth it as it put a smile on my family face. I was in a land that I was not familiar with, but my experience was met with welcoming arms. My father bowed his head as he left out of respect.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Meals were beautifully served and delicious. The garden was picture perfect. The location was peaceful and quiet, in a lovely small town.
