Welcome to your cozy, Scandinavian/lake themed 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom home in Uptown Minneapolis, just a 3 blocks from Lake Bde Maka Ska!

The safe, central location includes:

The property is the entire 2nd floor of the duplex and the perfect place to relax after exploring the city!

The Space:
The entire space is private for guest use only.

Guest Access:
Keypad entry locks to enter the living space, along with secure garage access.

The Neighborhood:
Walk out the front door and a few blocks to the west, you will run right into the lake! An abundance of activities and restaurants in the neighborhood, be sure to check out the virtual guestbook when you arrive!

Getting Around:
Neighborhood has abundance of street parking, but we also offer free, secure garage parking for up to 2 cars. We also offer a tandem bike, 2 road bikes, and 4 helmets.

Other Things to Note:
We ask that you please be respectful of our property, as we have worked very hard to create a unique and fun experience for you as our guests!

No parties or large gatherings. Only those included on the reservation are allowed in the space.

Smoking/vaping is PROHIBITED inside. If you do smoke outside, please clean up all remnants.

Absolutely NO pets allowed.

You will be held responsible for any damage incurred to the house during your stay. If something is broken or damaged, please reach out to us to let us know ASAP - it will help us address any issues quickly for you and for our future guests.

Toilets are for toilet paper ONLY.

No grease in the sink!

No Parties:
This house is only for use for those that booked it. We strictly do not allow parties of any type. No unexpected guests.
A noise detector is installed in the living room to alert us if a party is taking place. I will give 1 warning, but will ask you to leave and not refund your stay if it happens a 2nd time.

Friendly reminder - please be respectful of the long-term tenants on the first floor

Make sure to lock the side garage door and always keep the garage door closed

Please remember that this property is our house and not a hotel. We have poured our heart and soul into this house. Please be respectful of the property and the neighborhood. The cleaning service is hired to only wash linens, clean bathrooms and surfaces. They DO NOT clean up unnecessary trash or mess left behind. If there is any damage or excessive mess incurred during your stay, your group will be held responsible.

The apartment was ideal and exactly as described. It was very clean, and very comfortable with a lovely, well-equipped kitchen. We didn’t make use of the outside area, or the bicylces, but they seemed in great condition, and with the nearby bike paths around the lake that would be a nice option next time.

Stayed here with a friend. The place was very comfortable and represented accurately in the listing. We don’t do any cooking, but had everything we needed in the kitchen. It was nice to have a good supply of dishes, silverware and hangers, which is rare in a vacation rental. The neighborhood is really nice and we enjoyed walking around looking at the houses and gardens. We had a couple of issues during the stay, which our hosts were quick to address and make sure everything was ok for us. Would definitely stay here again!

This was a fantastic property. We especially appreciated the garage because we brought bikes along. The interior is exceptionally attractive and functional, the kitchen was spotless and well appointed, and the owner was quick to respond to our questions. We couldn't have been more pleased.

Good Stay with Unfortunate Ending

The property is in a good location near Lake Bde Maka Ska and with easy access to trails and restaurants. However, the intersection is noisy. Fortunately, the bedrooms are in the back, so the noise isn't too bad at night. I worked during the day and the street noise bothered me then. The cemetery across the street allows visitors and I found that to be a tranquil place to walk. To access the unit, you must climb a set of stairs with a shorter tread than found in newer homes. That may cause difficulties for some people, especially while carrying a heavy suitcase. The property was very clean, comfortable, and as described. The host was very responsive. The messages I received from the host stated that check out was at 10:00 a.m. with no warning of consequences if not out by 9:59. I took most of my luggage to my car around 9:55. At 10:00 a.m., I tried to open the apartment door to retrieve my purse and a couple other packed bags I had left by the exit. I discovered that my door code became inactive at exactly 10:00 a.m., so I was locked out. Fortunately, I had my cell phone in my pocket and was able to message the host through the VRBO app and he quickly unlocked the door remotely. If I had not had my phone with me or if I had left a young child in the apartment so I could carry luggage down the stairs, this could have been a serious problem. I suggest checking with the host about this policy if you book the unit.

Spacious, clean, great location

Overall, this place is very nice. A few blocks to the lake in one direction and a few blocks to cafes and a great book store in another! Be sure to make your way to the lake, it’s a wonderful place to walk. And the surrounding neighborhoods have charming houses if you’re into that. The rooms are spacious with nightstands and mirrors, and a place to plug in your phone at night, which not all vacation homes have. We had trouble with the heat and the manager fixed it immediately, very responsive. Note that if anyone in your party has trouble with stairs, this unit is on the second floor and the stairs are very narrow and steep, which seems to be a sign of houses built in a certain age. A couple of improvements, which I shared with the manager: add a window cover on the bathroom window. Only the bottom half is covered, I felt very visible at night. And there are not blackout blinds in the bedroom, so if you require a dark room, be sure to bring your sleep mask. I was very glad that the checkout instructions were simple, to start the dishwasher and take out the trash. We had a very nice stay here and recommend it.

Escaping the heat in Minneapolis

The unit was clean and everything was in good working order. Walked the nearby lake several times. There are many nice restaurants and coffee shops that are also walking distance. I’d definitely stay here again.

We very much enjoyed our stay. The property was comfortable and met our needs. We very much enjoyed being so close to both Bde Maka Ska and Lake Harriet, most days we walked along the lake both in the morning and the evening. It was also very convenient to the bus making a trip to downtown Minneapolis easy. It was the perfect base for us to explore the Twin Cities and a bit of Minnesota.

We really enjoyed our stay in South Uptown. The unit was perfect for our group of 4, tastefully updated. It’s in a great location near the lake but close enough to downtown. It was nice to be able to use the garage to park. Would definitely visit again.

Great location, responsive host

We loved our stay here. Property was very clean and had everything we needed as promised. There was a glitch with the door code when checking in, but the host responded to my message within minutes to rectify the situation. The location is perfect -- within walking distance of the lake, plus there are some convenience marts and restaurants within a several block radius. The garage is a great plus so you dont have to mess with street parking. We would definitely stay here again!
