The space

★ Previously owned by a former Wisconsin Governor and US Ambassador to Mexico.

★ The home retains elements of it's previous eras including many large picture windows and a wet bar.

★ Please note the fireplaces throughout the house are decorative ONLY and may NOT be used to light fires.

★ The main floor King Suite features a massive vanity counter of solid Mexican marble- a souvenir from the Ambassador's one-time home.

★ Large eat-in kitchen counter and formal dining room provide ample space for casual meals or an elegant dinner.

★ Off street parking for up to three cars and additional street parking available.

★ Driveway is shared with the neighbor and vehicles must not block the neighbors side of the driveway or access to their parking area.

★ Maintenance and garbage service or other personnel may be present from time to time but will not need to enter the home.

★ Laundry service personnel will pick up and drop off linens to the rear enclosed porch, which is separated and locked from the rest of the house.





Guest access

★ Guests have access to the entire property except the basement and utility closets.

★ A unique code will be generated for you to access the property via an electronic keypad on the front and rear doors.

Beautiful 100 year old home with a lot of space for our large family. The shared driveway had parking behind the home for three cars. The neighborhood felt safe. Host replied promptly to all communications. The kitchen had the necessities. Each bathroom had soap, shampoo, and tissues. The laundry room had detergent and extra towels and sheets.We stayed during the coldest weather in 6 years and the home is 100 years old, so the home had cold areas. The host supplied two space heaters: one for the laundry room to protect the water pipes and one to use in a bedroom. We could have used more heaters - some bedrooms went unused because they were too cold.We would definitely stay again, but only in the spring or fall.

The house was what we needed for our family visit for Thanksgiving. There were plenty of spaces for sleeping for three families, and for gathering for our dinner. There were some issues with the house itself, which are a concern. But all in all, it was a good place for us to use. Thank you.

It is a very old home with some really great qualities, but it definitely has some things I would not call charming. It is very large with plenty of space. The pictures make it look a bit nicer than it actually is. The floors are terribly dirty, all our feet were black from walking around. The yard has 4 large garbage cans that are not shown. When we arrived, the home was not cleaned from the stay before. The cleaning team was called and came within 2 hours of the time we were supposed to check in and we checked in about 4 hours late. The cleaning fee was returned to us but this was very inconvenient. There are various bedrooms behind locked doors, there is a combination of codes and keys to get into all the rooms which was unexpected. Behind the locked doors it was unclear if the bedding had been changed.We did not have access to all the rooms until about 8pm.Adam the host was responsive within an hour of messages but did not always return calls, we were communicating through text, phone calls, and the VRBO app so it was all very confusing.

Big and clean older home

We were in the house for a week. Great area for getting anywhere. House was clean, well stocked for necessaries and comfy. Host was responsive and nice. Check in and out very simple!

Good location

I liked the old, established neighborhood. It was convenient for getting around Milwaukee, not far from the lakefront. Our group had three cars. That worked fine. Theoretically, the parking area in back has room for four cars. That might have challenged our senior driving skills. Owner was responsive to our questions. The house is very spacious. It's not a decorator showhouse, but it more than met our needs.

The house was great for a large group, with lots of beds and bedrooms. Plenty of towels and sheets available. Owner was easy to contact and had prompt responses for any questions that were asked.

Property was in a great location. Rooms were very spacious. Description said only one bedroom had a full size bed. Actually 2 bedrooms had a full size bed. The bedrooms could really use light blocking shades or drapes. We all woke up with the sun whether we wanted to or not. The bed linens and towels were wonderful. The floors looked ok but after walking around in bare feet (after showers), the bottoms of our feet were black. Kitchen and bathrooms were clean. So overall it was a good house and I would rebook.

Great House for Family Gathering

We had a large holiday party for our extended family of 30. This was the perfect spot because we were able to accommodate both local and out of town guests. The entire first floor allowed room to eat, play games and dine comfortably. The 6 bedrooms were more than adequate and the third floor space was a great hangout for all of the kids. We loved the butler pantry and found the house well supplied with linens,towels, and cooking supplies. We loved our time here and would gladly return.

Great location and plenty of bedrooms

This house is in a good location in Milwaukee. We were able to get to shopping, restaurants, and bars with a quick 5-10 minute Uber ride. The house has a lot of bedrooms with comfortable beds. Since it’s an older house the floors are a little noisy especially at night. Overall we thought this was a great house for a large group.

Great MKE location

This very large house is lovely! The kitchen is fabulous and the whole house is incredibly spacious. They are not kidding about sleeping 16 people (no pull-outs or roll aways!). We stayed almost a week and thoroughly enjoyed being close to so many sites, both lakeside, downtown and nearby (state fair!). The hosts were very responsive and informative. This was a great find and we were lucky to book it!

Beautiful home in a great location

Before we even arrived for the baby shower, the communication was extremely thorough - including a visual diagram of the parking / shared drive. With 16 guests, that was ideal! We arrived right as the cleaning crew was leaving, and everything was immaculate. House rules were clearly displayed throughout the house so all questions were answered at a glance) Incredible location close to the river path, Downer, and plenty of parks, restaurants, anything else you'll need. Housing 16 without renting a frat house is a challenge, but this was perfect! So glad we found this home for our big but quiet weekend away.

Beautiful, spacious home

We had the best weekend in Milwaukee staying in this beautiful home! There was plenty of space to accommodate a larger group without feeling overly crowded. Adam was so accommodating and made the check in/ out process so easy! Next time I am in Milwaukee I will definitely look forward to staying in a StayMKE property.

Girls Weekend in Milwaukee

This house was perfect for our girls weekend! There were 15 of us and there was plenty of space for all of us. The house was very clean when we got there and the house was in very good condition. It was in walking distance to bars and restaurants on the east side which was ideal so we did not all have to Uber places. I would recommend to anyone going to Milwaukee with a large group.

Great place to stay

We met as a family of 12 from Michigan and Minnesota and had an amazing weekend together celebrating a 70th birthday and Christmas. It was a beautiful home with lots of fun areas to explore. The kids had a wonderful time playing hide and seek. The beds were very comfortable and the house is in great order. We will definitely stay there again!

Perfect for Large Groups

As seasoned vacation renters, we were impressed with this house. It is huge and can easily accommodate large groups. With bedrooms on 3 floors we were able to spread out. Each bedroom and bathroom was well equipped. Adam was very prompt and easy to communicate with.
