When you arrive, you’ll discover a rustic and cozy cottage, with sloped eaves and exposed beams. In the living room, you can browse a selection of books ideal for reading after a long day lounging at the beach or sampling Mendocino’s many culinary options. Or, if you prefer to catch up on shows and movies, the comfy couch and big-screen TV have got you covered. The couch can convert into a mattress.

In the kitchen, a small table seats up to 4. An electric stove, oven, coffeemaker, tea kettle, refrigerator, and dishwasher come in handy for home-cooked dinners, breakfasts, and afternoon tea. Granite countertops and a stainless-steel sink make meal prep a breeze. From the light fixtures to the plumbing, this home is built with quality craftsmanship and design flourishes to make you feel at home.

Situated on Law Road off Gurley Lane, a quiet street east of Highway 1, Green Tree Cottage is a great home base for visiting all the best places on the Mendocino Coast. You’re just up Little Lake Road from downtown Mendocino, where you’ll find delightful, quaint, and creative shops, art galleries, restaurants, cafes, and more! Stop by local favorite Gallery Bookshop; with luck, you might see the resident bookshop cat while selecting your next vacation read. You will also be close to Big River beach with its white sands, hidden coves and stunning nature trail (Beach towels and chairs are available on request).

If you prefer your walks with a side of shopping, stroll Main Street before crossing over to Mendocino Headlands State Park, which is crisscrossed by footpaths, all with amazing coastal views.

North of Mendocino, chase waterfalls at Russian Gulch State Park or visit the Point Cabrillo Light Station to marvel at the craftsmanship of the beacon and enjoy exhibits about life on the Mendocino Coast at the turn of the 20th Century. Farther north, the Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens boast over 40 acres of beautiful plants, trees and flowers, including the famous dahlia gardens, rhododendrons, and succulents.
