Very well set up apartment with everything you would need for a prolonged stay. Easy walk to the tram for the half an hour trip into the city. We were spoilt for choice for places to eat on the nearby shopping strip. The view from the apartment was ever-changing and amazing. Kerry S

If you want to be close to the city, but not in the city, this is the place to stay. Northcote is a somewhat gentrified area, so the area has all the benefits of a great selection of cafes, restaurants, shops and everyday requirements; yet it is a pleasant distance out from the city, so it's not in the city. It is surrounded by Brunswick, Thornbury, Ivanhoe and Fitzroy North.
Very close by in High Street, you will find an interesting selection of colourful shops, cafes, restaurants, a supermarket, ATMS etc; all your everyday needs are catered for. There are plenty of bars, and a lively music scene as well. For more great restaurants, cafes, bars and a brilliant cinema visit Westgarth village, only a short stroll down High Street. The area is among the best-served by public transport in Melbourne.
You can check Northcote area guide to see whats around you, like, for example Palace Westgarth Cinema or choose one of the numerous restaurants and cafes on High Street, which is just a minute walk from your place.
