About Mdina â The Silent City
Mdina was Maltaâs old capital city for centuries â a labyrinth of stone streets, noble houses, and hidden courtyards. By day, visitors come to admire its history, palaces, museums, and breathtaking views over the island. By night, when the day trippers leave, Mdina returns to its peaceful, timeless calm â with romantic lamplit streets and an atmosphere youâll never forget.
Step outside your door and youâre moments from excellent restaurants, cafes, charming wine bars, and small shops â all within the ancient walls. The surrounding town of Rabat, just beyond Mdinaâs gate, offers even more local life, bakeries and hidden gems.
đ· A Warm Local Welcome
To make your arrival special, we prepare a small welcome package with a bottle of local wine and traditional Maltese treats â itâs a little taste of island life, best enjoyed on your balcony overlooking the square.
