If I could give this house more stars I would. Absolutely amazing! The cleanest VRBO I have ever stayed in. Great location, close to downtown McHenry. Sitting in the yard and watching all the boats go by was great. The hosts made sure that you have everything you need and then some. They really take pride in this home and it shows. The pictures do not do it justice! We will be booking again.

Family Vacation

My family and I came out from Texas for a vacation and stayed at this river house. It was an amazing experience. The house was so thought out and was better than I could have imagined. The pictures were great, but it was even better in person. It was so clean and well-maintained. Every detail was beautiful, including all the decorations. My family and I had the best week and we couldn’t have dreamed of a better home to spend our vacation.

Horse show weekend in Woodstock

I stayed with three teenage girls for weekend to attend a horse show in nearby Woodstock- an easy 23 minute drive that was well worth it. The house feels more like a hotel with everything immaculate, up to date. Nice details like Murphy bed instead of fold out couch made it even more comfortable.Quiet street and nice view with patio furniture to enjoy it. We’d stay again!

Beautiful!!

We had an amazing time! The amenities in this home are so thoughtfully done. The property is well kept and the location is perfect. The hosts were very responsive, every detail is laid out in a great house manual too. My husband enjoyed paddle boarding every morning, the kids fished off of the dock and swam daily. The river can be really busy but this little spot didn’t feel as chaotic as some places. We’ve only been gone for a few hours and the kids are already asking to go back. We are hoping to make it a yearly stay.

Amazing!

This property exceeded my expectations! Coolest kitchen and bathrooms ever! Every room offered comfort and class. My fave was the screened porch- we had storms at night and it was just amazing to sit and enjoy the storms. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat!

Great Weekend Getaway

This place is wonderful and we'd stay again in a heartbeat. The screened in porch overlooking the water and the kitchen were our favorite rooms in the house. We were able to make and share several family meals together and the entire experience was extremely relaxing.

Wonderful property by the river!

We truly enjoyed our stay at this property!! It has everything you could need. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the tools you need to cook, bake and grill! This is definitely one of the best stocked kitchens we have had. The decor is welcoming and furniture is extremely comfy. We spent a lot of time outdoors and enjoyed the fishing pier, water toys and fire pit. One afternoon we drove a little north and rented a pontoon for half a day and cruised the chain-o-lakes. It’s only a little over an hour drive to Chicago which was nice since we caught a Cubs game on our way back home. We would stay here again and for sure recommend it! Thank you so much for opening your home to us!

Excellent!

This river cottage is an excellent getaway from our day to day busy life. The cottage was better than the photos. It was extraordinarily clean, upscale, fully stocked, full of amenities, easy check in/ check out, and the owners were very friendly and easy to communicate with before and during our visit. The neighborhood is cozy and friendly. The house is right on the water and the yard is fenced and private. They have a shed with water toys to enjoy on the water. We grilled dinner, sat by the fire, and enjoyed the peaceful scenery of the water. One of my favorite times of the day was having breakfast in the screened in porch watching and listening to water. Nearby, there is plenty of activities such as boating, jet ski, horseback, and golfing. We had lots of options to stay as busy or as quiet as we wanted our time to be. We were pleasantly surprised and would definitely consider going back again! 5 stars!

Great Getaway from the Hustle and Bustle

This property offers everything! We couldn’t believe how close this place is to Chicago while still affording my friends and I the perfect weekend getaway from the fast-paced city life. Sav’s property offered just that plus more. This was the right place for us to just relax, de-stress, and bond more. We spent most of our weekend cooking in the spacious kitchen with top-notch appliances. Normally, I’d be so intimidated trying to figure out where everything was but Sav had everything conveniently labeled, thank the heavens. The huge kitchen island provided us with the needed space to cook while sipping wine and catching up. After which, it was an easy transition to the dining area where the conversation naturally flowed. The bar area was perfect for stocking up beverages and strategically placed to quench our thirst as needed. The den/larger living room was spacious and so comfy. The leather couches were perfect for an impromptu game night or watching a movie with the Fox River in full view. My friends and I had never slept better. Two rooms are available and a murphy bed in the smaller living room if a third set up is necessary. The bathrooms were super clean and well stocked. The whole place was really a whole aesthetic vibe and we all felt like we were in a luxury villa. We didn’t get a chance to spend a lot of time out since it was still cold, but would love to be back during the summer time to lounge and sun bathe by the river and swim in the water. The screened in porch and second dining area would be perfect for summer lunches and bbq. We’ll surely be back! Thanks Sav for the hospitality and for sharing your property with us. We loved every single moment of it.

Relaxing riverside stay

Our stay here was great. We spent a lot of our visit relaxing in the comfy TV room, which has a great view onto the river, since it was cold out. The kitchen had all the amenities we needed to prepare our own meals, although there was also access to several delivery/take out options nearby. We look forward to booking another stay in the summer when we can take advantage of the fire pit, outdoor furniture, and river access. Good communication with host.
