Looking for an escape to nature? Enjoy the privacy Base Camp has to offer. Surrounded by 8 acres of serene forest, enjoy sitting out on the porch and listen to the peaceful sounds of nature. Too cold to sit outside? Enjoy the view inside with floor to ceiling windows and stay warm with the cozy gas fireplace. This 4 bed/3 bath cabin is perfect for a getaway to rest and recharge.
The Space
Base Camp sits at the foot of Snowshoe Mountain in the Slatyridge community, only a short 15-minute drive from the ski slopes. It's the perfect place to stay while enjoying the various outdoor activities Pocahontas County has to offer.

The cabin is full of updates with modern touches throughout. This home offers 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 2 living spaces, a fully stocked kitchen, office area, and a full-size laundry room.
The sleeping arrangements are as follows.
Upstairs Bedroom 1 - King Bed
Main Floor Bedroom 2 - Queen Bed
Main Floor Bedroom 3 - Queen Bed
Basement Bedroom 4 - Twin/Full Bunk Bed + Twin/Twin Bunk Bed
Amenities
The dining table expands to seat 8 comfortably (with at least 4 more at a breakfast bar), there are board games, books for all ages, Smart TV's, a private movie collection, and a yoga mat available.
The kitchen comes fully stocked with anything you would need to make comfort food, including a grill, crockpot, waffle maker, Insta-Pot, electric griddle, coffee maker (dual use for drip coffee and single serving), and more.
KIDS AMENITIES: We get it – traveling with littles is hard and requires so. much. stuff. We have available a pack n’ play, toddler bedrail guard, noise machine, changing pad, collapsible step stools for the bathroom, booster seat, baby gate, child dinnerware. Plus, eight acres of lively forest and two private streams to explore (with supervision, of course).
PARKING: Easy-access driveway in front of the house that will fit several vehicles, and a personal driveway behind the house that will fit additional cars. In the winter we advise using this front driveway for easy access to the road. Unlike many other properties in the area, this property is generally easily accessible in all seasons. That being said, in winter we still recommend having 4WD. It is recommended to drive a vehicle with higher ground clearance (sedans may have some trouble).

Please Note: Nature abounds in the forest! We keep a home pest control service on a frequent service plan to try to keep the cabin as pest-free as possible... but alas, Mother Nature reigns, and bugs and critters thrive out here. Please understand the possibility of seeing bugs in and around the home.
ADDITIONAL NOTES:

Snowshoe Mountain Resort has been called the Island in the Sky. While the Resort offers the amenities, comforts and entertainment you’d expect from a top-rated resort, its location is 4848 feet high in the Appalachian Mountains of West Virginia! There is no cell service within an hour from Snowshoe and WIFI in the Village is often weak. Please ensure you have directions and any contact numbers prior to traveling.

Ten days prior to your arrival you will have access to our online Guest Portal. The Guest Portal is your hub for important (and helpful!) information regarding your stay. One day prior to your arrival, you will receive an email with the door code, Wi-Fi, and home location information.

**Please Note: Snowshoe Mountain Resort temporarily closes from mid-October to Thanksgiving every year for transition from mountain bike season to ski season. It is a beautiful area to explore and plenty of outdoor adventures anytime of the year, but please know amenities will be limited. Please contact us with any questions.
*Please be sure to purchase your lift tickets and make reservations for dining/activities at the time of your rental booking.
*4WD is REQUIRED when staying at Base Camp during the winter season. Chains are highly recommended to have on hand.
