Perfectly situated in midtown near major Marfa attractions, MOTEL is a thoughtful, multi-year adobe renovation spearheaded by craftsman Jantzen Matzdorff, known for intentional restorations and putting his entire heart into his work. With design by the renowned design firm McCray & Co., this is the latest in a series of successful projects together. Together, they created this original boutique hotel almost exclusively with vintage and custom finishes while honoring the original structure.

Suite 1 is special. The 431-square foot space is perfect for two guests and offers two thoughtfully curated living room areas, a large kitchenette fully stocked with all the essentials (mini-fridge, 2 burner induction stove, sink, toaster oven, pour over coffee vessel), a bathroom with a tiled shower and all of your bathroom needs (shampoo, conditioner, body wash), the custom bed features a plush queen mattress with luxury sheets to ensure a good night`s rest. The open original ceilings and large space make this an ideal retreat for short or longer-term stays. The vintage art, custom furniture, and decor in this room were hand-picked and create an interesting space for you to enjoy while visiting Marfa.

Suite 2 is a thoughtful light-bathed 355-square-foot space ideal for two guests, seamlessly blending rustic elements with a vibrant ambiance. The living area boasts a one-of-a-kind built-in sofa, accompanied by carefully curated vintage furniture that establishes an entire atmosphere. The eclectic decor adds character and style to the space, making it a truly special place to stay. The custom bed features a plush queen mattress with luxury sheets. The full bathroom is thoughtfully stocked with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Room 3 is an artful 297-square-foot compact studio ideal for two guests, offering an overall inviting design. This room has a fun touch of space-age and psychedelic touches that make this room unique amongst the others. Well-lit at all times of the day, this room still provides a retreat from the sun with all modern amenities and thick adobe walls. The custom bed features a plush mattress and luxury sheets. The full bathroom is thoughtfully stocked with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, and the kitchenette is fully equipped with a mini-fridge, sink, toaster oven, hot plate, pour-over coffee vessel, and all of your kitchen essentials. Room 4 is a curated West Texas 307-square-foot studio ideal for two guests and offers a unique design that seamlessly blends vintage elements with a vibrant ambiance. Highlights of the room include a vintage leather chair for lounging or reading, eclectic decor adding character and style to the space, a custom bed with a plush queen mattress, and luxury sheets. The full bathroom is thoughtfully stocked with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, and the kitchenette is fully equipped with a mini-fridge, sink, toaster oven, hot plate, pour-over coffee vessel, and all of your kitchen essentials. Suite 5 is Miguel’s Auto Garage, and it`s an industrial gem. This stand-alone building is a 630-square-foot loft, perfect for two guests. Updated from its auto garage roots, gorgeous morning light floods in through the massive door that opens to a private patio with a fire pit and chairs for stargazing. The open format, large living room area is comfortable luxury juxtaposed with industrial fixtures to create a dynamic feeling. The lofted bedroom is separated from the rest of the space, and the custom bed features a plush queen mattress with luxury sheets to ensure a good night`s rest. Enjoy the vintage art, custom furniture, and industrial decor in this room while you admire a kitchen that was meticulously designed to allow for efficient space. Got a four-legged travel buddy? Marfa MOTEL is pet-friendly! We welcome 1 small pup (35 lbs or less) per stay.

The shared courtyard is decked out with a beautiful fountain, a dedicated dining area for dining al fresco, and a large outdoor fireplace to unwind under the stars. A custom BBQ grill adds to the charm for guests looking to grill and gather. The private spa-like outdoor tub area `Oasis` is reservable via QR code and features a vintage clawfoot tub. The shared sauna and cold plunge offer a one-of-a-kind relaxation experience in Marfa.

Guests also have access to high-speed internet and an EV charger located in the shared parking area—just bring your adapter to plug in with ease.

We’ll provide you with access information before you arrive. There is ample amount of street parking and a parking lot on the property. If you’d like recommendations for Marfa, we are happy to help! After booking, you`ll be provided a link where you can purchase upgrades to your booking, such as additional cleanings, early check-in, and late check-out. Security cameras are located in the common area to ensure the safety of the property and to give guests peace of mind.

Marfa’s compact size and MOTEL’s central location make walking and biking convenient for getting around. In town, there are local transportation services we can provide information for. Rideshare apps are very limited/rarely around.
1) No smoking allowed (of any kind) ($350 fine)
2) No loud noises after 10 PM per city ordinance
3) No events or parties.
4) Feel free to inquire about bringing your dogs along. We allow a maximum of (1) one small dog weighing 35 lbs or less. Unfortunately, cats are not permitted. There is a one-time pet cleaning fee of $85. Please inform us in advance if you plan to bring a dog so we can prepare the necessary cleaning supplies to eliminate allergens before the next guest arrives. If we do not receive notice at least 48 hours before your check-in, the fee will be $105. While staying with us, dogs must be crated when left alone, should not climb on furniture, and must not be left outside unattended. Owners are responsible for any damages caused.
5) The cleaning that you pay for is to clean the home prior to your stay. If you do not pick up after yourself sufficiently when you check out, you may be charged an additional cleaning fee - price depends on how long it takes to clean up after you. We don`t expect you to scrub the home, but simply pick up your trash and put everything where you found it
6) Minimum age requirement is 25
7) If you do not check out on time (10 AM) you will be charged an additional night
