You can also hire a boat, visit the many art exhibitions or the impressive Dedham church, a 15th-century church that stands proud in the middle of the village.

Further north is Colchester, the oldest recorded town in Britain, where some of the most important events in British history have taken place. As you walk through the town there is 2000 years of history to discover, mixed with shops, restaurants and attractions. A short drive to the east you will find the quintessential British seaside towns of Frinton-on-Sea and Walton-on-the-Naze. Beach 15 miles. Shop 1¼ miles, pub and restaurant 3 miles.
