Private Chalet in Nature & Water / Near Algonquin
Unwind in nature in this newly built (2022), 4 season, off grid cottage privately located on a 36-acre estate on Bark Lake. Unlimited internet. The cabin was built with the nature enthusiast in mind. Perched upon a cliff with western exposure sunsets, abundance of nature and an outdoor living area. The property also has access to waterfront with a grand dock to swim and relax on. Bring your water toys / boat as you will have access to the private boat launch. In the fall/ winter bring your ATV and snowmobile and explore the beautiful trails that surround us. Snowmobile trail access is a short drive away from our location connecting you to over 175 km of groomed trails and onward to the provincial network. The Opeongo Snowbirds and trails B102, E019 pass near Barrys Bay.  1 pet dog allowed. Our house is 700 sq. feet with cathedral ceilings designed in a hotel style (open) layout and is completely off grid! To view a video of the chalet, type in Barkview Hideaway on You Tube. -Our power is generated by the sun by our two large solar panels you can see at the end of our driveway. Do not worry you will always have power as we have a back-up generator. We love living off grid, it gives us a satisfied feeling that we are doing our best for the environment. -unlimited 48MBPS high speed InternetïżŒ -The space is designed for two people or one person getting away from it all. There is one queen bed and a twin rollaway bed if separate beds are preferred. The rollaway bed can be set up in the living room space and is stored in the utility room. Parents are welcome to bring infants but the space is not set up as child friendly. -You have a private walk out covered patio deck complete with a patio table, BBQ / burner and two Muskoka chairs to sit and gaze at the lake and western exposure sunsets. -Excellent for birdwatching and wildlife as the house sits in the forest. Sitting in The forest means there will be bugs and we do our best to ensure the house is secure of insects etc. but this is country living and sometimes these things make their way in. -If you are looking for peace and tranquility this is the place for you. So many of our guests are amazed at how quiet and tranquil the space is. -If you are looking to see the stars this is the place. No city lights means dark skies and stars galore. -Lots of areas to walk even a nearby pond. Bring your rubber boots as it does get muddy back there if you want to go and enjoy the frogs. -Bark Lake is a clean lake and I would suggest to bring water shoes as it is rocky off the dock. -There is excellent swimming and fishing. You have access to a canoe life jackets and a single kayak. -There is a picnic table on the dock to enjoy your meals. -Enjoy campfires and we provide the wood for your use. Bring your marshmallows! - The location is only 15 minutes to Barry's Bay which has all the amenities. There are many hiking trails and Algonquin Park is only a 50 minute drive to the East gate. -if you would like to bring your dog, please inquire as we allow if certain rules are followed. Please inquire prior to booking. You will have full access to Barkview hideaway and the surrounding area. Our home is located 0.2 km down the driveway which is private. -you have access to our dock which is at the end of Curtiss Road if you turn right out of the driveway and follow the road to the end and to the left you will see the boat launch and the dock. Please park your car off to the side to not block the boat launch -It is a 10-12 minute walk and there is a steep hill or 5 minute drive Ian and I live onsite and our house is 0.2 km up the road from Barkview Hideaway. -We will be available if we are home and certainly will chat if we cross paths. -Our boat is at the dock so we may cross paths on the dock for our access to the boat -We respect our guests need for privacy so be assured that will be respected. We want your vacation to be how you want it to be! Barkview Hideaway is located on a 36 acre private estate atop a cliff overlooking Bark Lake. -Our small community consists of 15 waterfront properties which are privately owned. -We own the boat launch at the end of Curtiss Road which features our dock. -Our guests will have access to the dock to enjoy your day swimming, fishing, canoeing/kayaking or just relaxing on the Muskoka chairs. -The town of Barryâs Bay is 15 minutes away which features all amenities including restaurants, shopping and a visitor information center. -You can read more about Barryâs Bay in the Toronto star article written this year https://www.thestar.com/life/t... Designated Parking is provided behind the house for one vehicle -If you have a boat or water toy please inform us so we can instruct you where to park at -You will require a car/truck in order to access the property as there is no public transportation as this is a country/rural setting. -For winter accessibility we highly suggest an AWD vehicle as the 3 km road into the property is a dirt road with hills and turns. -It is plowed and sanded all winter. Barkview Hideaway is a Four-season house and will be available to rent throughout the year. -Fall is notorious for the beautiful autumn colors. -The winter season is popular for snowmobiling, snowshoeing and ice fishing. It is advised in the winter to have all wheel drive, snow, tires, or 4 x 4, as we live 3 km down a cottage Road. It is ploughed year-round and sanded. -Algonquin Park is a 50 minute drive to the east gate. -Madawaska Valley is a Four-season region which offers many activities for all various types of travelers. -Bark Lake is 90% crown land surrounding us. It truly is incredible that you rarely see boats or people considering the size of the lake. Barkview Hideaway is truly a slice of paradise. -Our dog Angel is a Cane Corso mix. If she hears noise down at the chalet, she may come down barking to say hello. She is friendly, but please donât crouch or reach over her head as she needs her space to get to know you. We have a collar on her that we use to keep her at our house. -What makes Barkview Hideaway unique is you have the best of both worlds. -A newly built private house situated in the forest overlooking the western exposure of Bark Lake. -Then you have access to waterfront and all the amenities. -We find the mix of having both provides everything you need for true relaxation and peace. in the winter to have all wheel drive, snow, tires, or 4 x 4, as we live 3 km down a cottage Road. It is ploughed year-round and sanded, but there are hills.
