The staff was super friendly and helpful. The room, breakfast, everything was great. Short walk to the plaza and short ride to the train station. We would definitely stay here again.
This was a peaceful hotel with nice areas to read and relax. The staff were friendly & helpful. The breakfast was delicious. The female staff memberâs omelette was light & tasty.
Ollantaytambo is a very small remote town so there arenât a lot of hotel options. This is a very cute little hotel with cute lobby area and a nice garden area. Itâs 15-20 min walk away from the train station (to Machu Picchu). Quick 10 min walk away from the Ollantaytamobo ruin and from the plaza. The hotel is clean and comfortable. The staff was very nice and tentative. I would recommend staying here.
No water in the morning for showers, face wash, brush teeth, tight on time we had to leave (5am)
Reception staff was helpful and prepared morning breakfast boxes for early departure (but was not there until 6am)
Early morning the reception and restaurant area was pitch dark and created a very unsafe condition for walking to exit , a major tripping hazard, we had to bring flash lights to find the light switches.
Beds were comfortable and sheets were clean.
It's also a convinient 5m walk to main plaza.
Great location, amazing views. Right on the river. Walking distance to any and everything you might want to see. Staff and family who owns property was wonderful. Definitely would stay again if in the area.
We spent two very enjoyable nights. The owner and his family were very nice and went out of their way to be helpful. We particularly loved the open spaces to gather with other travelers. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone visiting and only wish we would have stayed another night!
The room was good, the host was accommodating to get us the room early than the standard check-in time.
However, the breakfast offered was very poor. Each morning only few pieces of veggies were given, multiple requests had to be made for refills. The owner should look into this, other guest also had similar complaints.
This was a lovely boutique hotel with a beautiful view of the river and the mountains. Very accommodating staff with a nice breakfast and good information about the town and tour options. The manager took me on a private tour of the Sacred Valley and also woke up extra early to make me breakfast before my Machu Picchu visit. There was no heat in the room but there were plenty of warm blankets to keep you comfortable. I felt completely safe as a solo female traveler and would highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting the Ollantaytambo area.
Our stay was great. The staffs were very nice and helpful. Rene runs the place when we were there, he is also tour guide and taxi driver. He is fairly priced and makes good recommendations. The property condition and facilities could use some improvement but considering the location is in such a remote valley, we are grateful for everything they offered.
Good service but the condition of the place need to get better, we didnât have to much hot water and it was cold inside the place. Place was clean. But they need to fix a few things in the infrastructure.
We are a same sex couple. When we arrived, the host told us he did not know where the keys to the rooms we had booked were, so he went off to look for them, then he came back and told us they had given our room to someone who was filling ill and needed to be on the lower floor and asked us if we would be okay with a room with two single beds, and we answered no. We were then offered an upgraded room that felt like a downgrade. The bed was not very comfortable but that could have been us (preferences). The sink was missing all the tiles on the outter side facing the toilet, the balcony was unfinished and just had a piece of plywood instead of a finished floor, there were unfinished electrical outlets. Nevertheless, the place in general has some charm being by the river (not much water at all if it is dry season of course) and is very quiet.
I canât speak highly of this place enough! My friend and I stayed here when we travelled to Peru in July, and Rene and his family made us feel so welcome. The hotel is charming and in a convenient spot to stroll around Ollantaytambo, or head to the ruins or the main square. Bil made us delicious breakfast every morning, and our room had an amazing view of the mountains. This hotel is located in a really picturesque spot and also offers a familial vibe as the host was very personable. Rene was ready to answer any questions we had, offered us pieces of advice (that were very helpful), and even toured us around the Sacred Valley. I wouldnât think twice about booking here again for a cosy stay in Ollantaytambo.
Elizabeth and Rene are wonderful hosts who clearly enjoy helping guests. They provided helpful information, a lift to the next bright and early, loaned me hiking poles for a difficult hike. The room is smallish but there are sitting areas and reading materials outside the rooms. The rio runs part it and the only sound at night is the gurgling water. The bed was comfortable and the double alpaca blankets ensured a warm and deep sleep.
Highly recommended!
