Welcome to Winton Place.
Yes, we did borrow that line from the great F. Scott Fitzgerald, but this charming Tudor will make you feel like Gatsby himself as you savor the good things in life. Enjoy the expansive gardens, tennis court, pool, or patio. Inside the home you`ll find sun-soaked rooms, newly remodeled bathrooms, a spacious living room with smartTV, a charming kitchen with original mid-century modern cabinets, and two studies.

POOL IS OPEN AS OF MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND AND WILL BE CLOSING AFTER LABOR DAY WEEKEND. Please inquire if you want to ensure the pool is open during your stay!

What you`ll find inside the home:

MAIN LEVEL:
Enter into the large foyer with the dining room to the right and the living room to the left.
The dining room connects to the kitchen, and off of the kitchen is a study with a trundle daybed that can sleep up to 2 people. The study leads to the veranda, complete with a dining table, cafe table, and a gas grill.
Through the living room, you`ll find an additional study with a Full sized daybed with a twin sized trundle underneath. Both studies have desks as well.
There is a main level half bath in the foyer.

**PLEASE NOTE THAT BOTH DAY BED ROOMS DO NOT HAVE A PHYSICAL DOOR THAT CAN BE SHUT**

UPSTAIRS:
At the top of the stairs is the master bedroom with a brand new, memory foam bed. The master bath was newly remodeled with a stand-up, walk-in shower.
Bedroom #2 features one queen bed
Bedroom #3 features two queen beds
An additional upstairs bathroom has another stand-up shower with stunning cobalt blue tile work.
The upstairs landing features a desk in case anyone needs to separate from the group to get some work done.

OUTSIDE:
The veranda features a dining table, cafe table, and gas grill. Walk down the steps and follow the stone pathway through the gardens to reach the pool (open May-September).
Past the pool, you`ll find the newly re-finished tennis courts.

Guests will have access to the entire property!

We live about 10 minutes away from the property and are responsive to every need.

This home was designed by famed architect C.H. Hinnant, with buildings on the National Register of Historic Places, and built by Pettyjohn Builders (who built nearby Randolph College and other noteworthy landmarks up and down the east coast) for a prominent local family in 1929

This home is in the prestigious Boonsboro neighborhood of Lynchburg- it`s a safe and private neighborhood.

Lynchburg`s public transportation system is limited, so UBER or LYFT are your best options if you don`t plan to bring a car. This home is centrally located and minutes away from grocery stores, restaurants, etc, but it`s not a great road for walking on.

Winton Place was featured on the Historic Garden Week Virginia Tour in 2022.
The fireplace is non-functioning.
