Well managed and beautiful property! Unit was spacious and well stocked. Pool was great and beach right at the foot of the buildings. Laundry room was free to use (detergent extra) and really helpful. This property will be at the top of our list if we return to the area!

We really enjoyed the property at Sand Cay, the beach is beautiful and access so close! The office ladies were very welcoming and helpful. The kitchen and bathrooms are nicely updated (bathrooms a little small), the bedrooms and family room seem a little worn/outdated. There was a decent sized lizard (bigger than a salamander) in the condo our first night, wondering if the maids left the door open when cleaning. The beach umbrella was a welcome bonus! We enjoyed our time here very much, a relaxing stay!

Great Location and Well-Equipped Condo, But Needs a Deep Clean

The location of this condo was absolutely amazing—just a short walk to the ocean, which made our stay incredibly convenient and enjoyable. The unit itself was well equipped with everything we needed, especially in the kitchen. All the tools and appliances were available, making it easy to cook and feel at home.However, the cleanliness of the unit could use significant improvement. It seemed like the space had only been superficially cleaned prior to our arrival. Some furniture surfaces were noticeably dusty and appeared not to have been touched in quite a while. Additionally, while the main bathroom areas (toilet, sink, shower) were clean, other surfaces in the bathroom had accumulated dust and clearly hadn’t been wiped down recently.A couple of smaller issues also stood out—two fans in the unit were not working, and one of the extra pillows I found in the closet was very old and worn out, which was disappointing.Overall, while the location and amenities were great, the cleaning and minor maintenance issues detracted from an otherwise pleasant stay. A thorough deep clean and some attention to upkeep would make a big difference.Staff in the office was very pleasant and kind.

Excellent as always

This was our third stay at the property, with us having stayed in different units each time. You can really tell that the property has made significant investments in the past few years, all worthwhile. We will keep coming back, I don’t have anything critical to say about this particular unit, but as we have stayed in other units on the property with a washer and dryer in the unit, we missed that a little with this one, but be free common use machines were still excellent. Other than that, the only other thing we missed in this particular unit was a fridge that had filtered water and an ice machine. Again, not a major dissatisfier, but with two young kids, it would be a bonus.

Fantastic beach vacation

Sand Cay is the perfect spot for your longboat key vacation, and unit 311 was phenomenal. Clean and comfortable, very well appointed, and plenty of beach gear available to use! We visit Sand Cay Several times a year and this is our new go to spot. The management company on site is absolutely phenomenal.

Nice condo on a great property

The condo was nice and accurate to the listing description. The beachfront property was gorgeous and very convenient. We appreciated the beach supplies provided inside the condo as well (chairs, umbrellas, toys etc.) We weren't happy to arrive to some trash and food left out around the condo however, though management easily waved the cleaning fee for us. I do have to say that for the price, the mattresses and pillows are not comfortable. The rest of the condo was quite nice however.

Great stay

This is our first stay at sand cay. We normally stay at another condo but they were booked. This property was comparable in price and location. The room was clean and comfortable for our family. The mattress in the master was a little thin and uncomfortable is my only complaint about the room. The pool on the property could have stood a better cleaning. Water was a little cloudy. This location was great and we would stay here again.

Perfect getaway, perfect condo

The rental of this property was very easy and efficient. The office managers were very responsive and friendly. We lived in this unit for 2 months. and loved every minute of our stay. The condo itself was perfect. I read some unfavorable old reviews but totally disagree. This unit has been beautifully redone with new appliances, floor, furniture, and the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. I recommend Sand Cay and Unit 311 for a perfect vacation.

What we liked: dining/breakfast area with windows, spacious entry with nook to hang hats/towels/shoes, and open concept renovated/beach feel living room. Location. Pool. Free community ice maker. Landscaping/grounds. Chairs/coolers/beach items in storage closet. Where things fell short: water stains on ceilings, nail holes and marks on walls where things used to hang, dated/cheap kitchen, kitchen sink faucet that you had to muscle to turn on and no spray nozzle, splatter on kitchen cabinets/walls that hadn't been wiped down, old stove and dishwasher, minimal kitchen accessories (more prep bowls, corning ware, etc.), small toilets, very dated and small bathrooms, tubs/doors in showers not clean and showing rust/mold on doors/caulking, broken blind on patio door lying behind tv stand, no gas grills and charcoal community grills are in full sun, no ceiling fans, DVD is not blue ray, old stained light switches, no washer and dryer in the unit (community washer/dryers), only get 2 garbage bags and 2 dish pods for 7 days, no towel exchange (beach towels were sour after 7 days). We were vacationing during the red tide. I understand their is not much Sand Cay can do about the tide but my biggest criticism is that you do have management control over the beach area. Only after people complained was their a single clean up of the piles of dead fish and maggots on the beach. I only saw this once in the 7 days we stayed. We avoided using the beach area in front of Sand Cay. We instead visited family a few resorts down who cleaned their beach every single morning. Our family paid the same per night for a completely renovated condo at a different condo complex. I was not dissatisfied with our unit but I think their are nicer places for the same money. This unit has so much potential but owner is not putting money into it. I had greater expectations for what we paid.

Nice place with great amenities

We had the best stay at Sand Cay. The staff were so nice. The beach access, chairs, and towels were wonderful. Umbrellas were also available. It was so nice to not have to worry about having to buy those items and leave them behind. Will be staying here again.

Great location, private beach, nice sized pool, tennis court, and close enough to everything we needed or wanted to do, but far enough away to have the peace and quiet we needed and wanted as well. Great family vacation. Everything was clean and updated. They don't make them like this anymore. Sunsets were incredible every night. And bring charcoal if you like to grill, they have 3 communal grills that look out on the beach and gulf.

Relaxing and fun

We truly enjoyed our stay at Sand Cay 311. It looked exactly as the pictures depict and was perfect for our family of four with two small children. I was almost turned off staying here by one 1-star review— I’m so glad I listened to the 5-star reviews— it was lovely. Fairly dated but the main living areas are so cute and beachy! We loved being steps from the ocean and the pool. Town was just a short scenic drive away. We hope to be back soon!
